His insert songs are Sanactuarior and Noisllietar.
Name[]
The surname "Myodo" uses the kanji for "clear" (明) and "guidance" (導).
Appearance[]
Akina has short hair that is mostly dark blue except for a streak above his forehead that is red at the bottom and fades to white at the top. He wears a long sleeved shirt with red and white striped sleeves and a red and white striped hem that is red on the right side and white on the left side with a red line next connecting to bottom half, where the patterns are reversed over a black undershirt. His pants are grey and his shoes are red with white soles and a white stripe at the top.
Personality[]
Akina is a nurturing older brother, he takes care of his frail sister, Hikari Myodo, in place of his father who is busy at work. This also extends to others like Suo when he finds out his backstory and how he lives his life. His persistence once he discovers that the Fated Clash could be the chance to save Hikari, he fights wholeheartedly but blindly throughout the tournament, even when a Hikari from a future timeline where he loses, tells him that he is fated to lose to Suo. Future Hikari even states that this wholeheartedness to care for her and save her comes from his own sense of guilt, believing himself as the one who caused Hikari's condition after an incident on a mountain trip almost left Hikari dead.
Abilities[]
- Temporary Immortality As revealed by Gabwelius, owners of the Fated One cards under his protection cannot be killed or harmed until the wish has been granted. This backfires as Suo's wish was nothing, which Blangdmire took as Returning to Zero, which killed Akina once he lost. It is unknown if in the Destined Showdown, this same effect is applied to Akina.
- Design Force: A mysterious power that enables Akina to create miracles in his card fights and even break the effect of Sybilt's Spirit Corruption.
History[]
DivineZ Season 1[]
Before the start of DivineZ, Akina and Hikari were on a camping trip in the mountains. After being left alone near the summit, Hikari suffered from altitude sickness, which led Hikari to force to be hospitalized. Ever since that incident, Hikari's lungs deteriorated and so had to leave school for multiple stays in the hospital. As their father was busy working, Akina became the only person to visit Hikari during this time, having to lie to her about how her father would come and visit her soon to keep her spirits up.
Akina got interested in Vanguard after meeting Gabwelius, a mysterious flying creature who puts him in the Fated Clash against five other Cardfighters. He approached his senior at work Nao Inabe, who herself is a competitive player, and asked her to teach him how to play the game. Taking him to a card shop run by Megumi Okura, Nao teaches Akina how to build a deck and fight. Within the next few days, Akina builds a Keter Sanctuary deck and proceeds to his first Fated Clash match against Nao. Vowing to never give up on his wish to cure Hikari, Akina wins the game.
He later meets Mikoto Saito after he substituted himself for a meeting originally scheduled by Hikari. He brings Mikoto to see Megumi, who helps Mikoto build a deck. Later, Akina witnessed Mikoto's loss against Taizo Kiyokura during the second round of the Fated Clash.
After watching Mikoto's match with Taizo, Akina took the time with Nao after work to plan out a strategy for his deck to stand a chance against Taizo, who being a true professional fighter, is on another level to Akina. The plan decided by Nao and Akina is that for this match, Akina forgoes all defensive options and focuses on maxing out Critical and Front Triggers to go aggressive from the starting point. Bluffing and using his Divine Skill as his only defensive options, he was able to squeeze out a victory against Taizo, securing his spot in the Finals.
One day after school, he notices Suo walking home in the rain without an umbrella which prompts Akina to walk home with him to make sure he doesn't get wet. They make it to Suo's house soaked, realizing that Suo barely takes care of himself at home. He then starts to clean up Suo's apartment out of habit for taking care of people and then uses Suo's bath once he was done. Once showered, he walks into Suo's uncle, who just gone home from work, shocked at how clean the apartment is and how dinner was even made. Suo's uncle thanks Akina for being Suo's friend who lets Akina stay with them tonight due to how bad the storm was outside. While Suo sulked in his room, his uncle told Akina about Suo's parents, who died in a train accident when he was small. Ever since that moment, Suo continually relives that train scene in his head before the crash as he is still haunted by it to this very day.
Days later, he and Hikari go with Mikoto and Taizo to watch Nao's tourney in another district. He made it to the venue just in time to cheer on Nao to help her out of her funk and secure her the win. During the night party, Akina gets a message that the Fated One of Taboo and Zero will fight next. Whoever wins the next fight will face him in the finals, so he and the gang go to see who the final 2 Fated One owners are, who are revealed to be Masanori Iseki and Suo Yobitsugi. The gang watch the fight as Suo wins. Akina confronts him about being in the Fated Clash, but Suo only states that he has no wish, and only fights as it is as Fate orchestrated. Once Suo leaves, the mysterious visitor finally approaches Akina and the gang. With no choice left now that Akina and Suo are fated to fight again, the visitor reveals herself to be an older Hikari.
Future Hikari explains how one day, Akina said he would be home later, and never returned. Eventually, she was chosen as a Fated One. She was hesitant, until Gab told her about her brother, who failed to defy fate and died through Suo's wish. Akina lost in this timeline, with Suo wishing for nothing. His vanguard Fated One of Zero, Blangdmire, turning the Hakusen Stage and most of the surrounding mountain into a giant crater, killing all of the participants. Hikari used her wish to jump back in time, where she would then try to push Akina, Suo, and recruited the help of Taizo, to change fate. However, she was unsuccessful, and as a final gambit, revealed herself to Akina to beg him to quit the Fated Clash, as she would rather be sick but with her brother, then see her brother die. Akina however, did not budge and continued to believe that he could beat Suo, even when Hikari told her how Blangdmire can cancel out Rezael's miracle, which Akina used for all of his other matches. Akina then asked Hikari for one fight. If he wins, he will fight Suo. If Hikari wins, Akina will quit. Despite an intense battle, Akina was able to win and defeat Hikari. However, this alone was not enough to defy fate. Hikari through her will, molded Liael to have one particular effect through her hatred of Suo. She gave Liael to Akina in order to change fate one final time.
On the fated day, everyone came to watch, despite knowing that they had a chance of dying, though Taizo had his car parked close by just in case. Akina, now with a true miracle in hand, tries to speak to Suo's humanity. Suo continues on about how Fate is one thing that cannot change, and that at the end of fate is Zero. Akina however, uses the fight to go beyond Suo's Zero, and to show him that Fate can be defied and that beyond the Zero, is hope. The original scenario starts to play, Akina's Miracle is turned off and Suo goes in with Blangdmire's Divine Skill to end the fight, but Akina uses Liael-Amorta's special effect, made solely to defy the Zero, and survives Suo's kill turn. Akina has defied fate and has gone beyond the Zero that Suo has lived in since the accident. While it seemed hopeless, Akina was able to stall out Suo's Divine Skill, reactiving his power of Miracles. Allowing him to survive Suo's final turn and show Suo that miracles do exist. Suo, now having left the Zero of his mind, and able to look at everything he lost again fondly, sheds tears and smiles for the first time in years, now driven to defeat Akina. Through it all, Akina was able to secure the win against Suo, and won the Fated Clash. With everyone gathered in celebration, Akina wishes for Hikari to recover, and through the Design Force, Hikari recovered permenantly.
Future Hikari and Akina have one final talk alone, where Akina gives back Liael-Amorta. Asking Future Hikari what will happen to her next, she lies to him and states that now that the future has been changed, she will return back to the future.
Time moves on after the Fated Clash. Akina continues to live his normal life, now with Suo as his friend who has been able to start healing from the incident. He forces Akina to cardfight him everyday, which Akina accepts. Mikoto now hangs out with the duo, which shocks Kento and the rest of the class.
DivineZ Season 2[]
Now that Hikari has been cured, he has taken steps to spend more time with her at home. They watch TV together while eating breakfest as they talk about the recent news report regarding Kuon Aikawa. Going to school the next day, the now changed Suo greets him, Akina noticing how happier Suo seems since the Fated Clash. They talk with Kento about a transfer student who is entering their class, who turns out to be Kuon Aikawa. Kuon takes interest in Akina and Suo, brushing off Kenta's suspicion by discussing how he learned the entire class roster before entering this morning, with Kuon and Akina exchanging numbers. Akina and Suo fight casually after school, but Suo wins, due to the power of Liael =Amorta no longer being in Akina's deck. Akina lounges at home waiting for Hikari when Gabwelius barges through the window. He asks Akina to gather the other participants of the Fated Clash and to meet at Cook Million, as something has occurred that concerns them. All 6 meet up at Cook Million as Gabwelius explains the truth of the Fated Clash. After the battle against Griphogila on Cray, Earth was showered with Design Force, a power that can rewrite reality. Gabwelius held the Fated Clash to gather Design Force energy found in humans who have wishes connected to Vanguard Units who have absorbed a high amount of Design Force, to open a portal from Earth to Cray, to allow his body to pass through the spatial barriers to fight a formless being known as Sybilt. A monster from Cray responsible for the death of Gabwelius's tribe. Sybilt has made it to Earth and he has made it his mission to hunt Sybilt down. To extract the Design Force from people, he made the Fated Clash to force all Design Force into 1 Unit, which he would use to make the portal, but to make humans go along with his plan, he used some of the power of the Design Force as a prize for the winner of the Fated Clash to give them any wish they want. When he attempted to summon a portal after the Fated Clash, Sybilt took over his summoning, and instead created 6 Destined One cards. While Gabwelius was warning the six, Sybilt then recruited six of their own individuals with wishes who lived in the area to serve as the users of the Destined One cards. Using the same idea as Gabwelius that they could use the Design Force to give them any wish they desired, Sybilt then made the 6 Destined One owners fight the 6 Fated One owners in a war known as the Destined Showdown. Akina was concerned about Sybilt as Sybilt had recruited Kuon Aikawa to their ranks, and when revealed the other Destined Ones, it was revealed that Hikari owned the Destined One of Time, Liael゠Odium.
