Left Arrester and Right Arrester

"Arrester" (アレスター Aresutā) is a series of cards that include "Arrester" in its card name. The first card was introduced in Extra Booster: Comic Style Vol. 1, but would not form into an archetype until its introduction in V Premium with the release of V Booster Set 02: Strongest! Team AL4. Arresters act as support for the "Dueling Dragon" archetype.

Playstyle

Introduced with the original debut of Murakumo as a clan, the original two Arresters served as generic supporting rear-guards for the clan and the archetype would not take form until the clan's re-introduction in V Premium where their relation as the supporting rear-guards of the Dueling Dragon archetype was confirmed. The most distinct of the Arresters, Right Arrester is able to prevent an opponent's vanguard from [Stand]  during the opponent's next stand phase if Dueling Dragon, ZANBAKU is the player's vanguard and Left Arrester is present on (RC). While the skill itself is costly, it contributes significantly to the strategy of the Dueling Dragon deck when coupled with ZANBAKU's own skill of preventing the opponent from riding during the ride phase, preventing the opponent's vanguard from taking significant action for a whole turn.

Other members of the Arrester series follow the trends set by Left Arrester where they're able to increase their [Power]  dependent on having other Arresters present on the board and in a slight nod to the archetype's history, have their skills activate from specific positions on the player's field such as with Central Arrester who is capable of attacking from the center back row (RC). The proliferation of newer Arrester members beyond the original two benefits the Dueling Dragon deck as both ZANBAKU and ZANTETHU are able to call any Arrester cards to (RC) and thus opening additional avenues of aggressive gameplay for the deck.
