- Since this card already spends a Counterblast to use it's effect, you can retire a fodder that doesn't cost Counterblast to activate to avoid spending too much Counterblast, such as Coelamagnum, Assault Dragon, Assaultrex (if you play Rex), or a rearguard with Emperor Dragon, Gaia Emperor's Stride Bonus effect.
- If you retire Coelamagnum, give the +5000 Power from it's effect to this card to help it hit and draw a card, and even if you don't hit you still get to draw a card with Coealamagnum's own effect.
- If you play a Gaia deck, retire Cold Dragon, Freezernyx to get a refund for the spent Counterblast.
