  • Good starters for a deck built around this card would be Shining Knight, Millius (which can then be traded in for another Grade 2 unit and a soul), Libergal (which can be used to try and fetch a Grade 3 unit and a soul). Both units can then be recycled via Legion and brought out again using Ezzell's Legion skill.
  • Running units such as Margal, Silent Sage, Sharon, and Encourage Angel in your trigger lineup gives you many additional Grade 0 unit options for Ezzell to fetch with his Legion skill.
  • As the condition of having 2 Grade 3 units out on the field is fulfilled by having Ezzell simply in Legion, calling Toypugal ensures you have a consistent 9k rearguard booster to create 21k columns with 12k attackers such as Transmigration Knight, Brede, or to create easy 18k columns with 9k attackers when facing off against Crossride builds.
  • As Ezzell's Legion Skill is does not touch your counterblasts, feel free to include counterblast heavy units such as Blaster Blade or Battle Flag Knight, Constance in your lineup. Alternatively, you may want to run Knight of Fragment to threaten to provide damage unflip and soul, and leave the counterblasts to be used by Alfred himself.
  • Naturally, calling a rest unit such as Lake Maiden, Lien or Barcgal behind the Vanguard circle will make best use of the Rearguard Circle that will be left unused otherwise. If you do not run any of those units, feel free to simply call your weakest unit (usually your starter) in that slot where it will not mess with your other columns.
  • This unit's skill can take advantage of cards that gain effects when called from the Deck, like Blaster Blade Spirit or Sword of Hope, Richard.
  • If you have excess soul you can use Techgal for boosting the Vanguard whenever needed. And if you have no soul or boosters, Larousse is a good option not just to fill field but also soul for either your rearguard skills or for another persona blast.
  • Blue Scud, Barcgal can be used to fill the soul for this unit's Legion ability, while also facilitating the cost by searching the deck for a copy of King of Knights, Alfred.
