Chrono Dran (クロノ・ドラン Kurono Doran) is a character in Cardfight!! Vanguard G, introduced in Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis. He is the younger form of Chronojet Dragon, and made Chrono Shindou the Gear Chronicle Singularity. He Dimensional Overstrides with Chrono in Cardfight!! Vanguard G: Z.
Appearance
He is a miniature, "chibi" version of Chronojet Dragon.
Dran is a small blue dragon boy with gold arm and leg armor. on his neck he wears a red scarf, and on his forehead he has a red jewel. on his back are two small jets about half his height. His feet and tail have wheels on them.
Due to the Dimensional Overstride, the blue parts of his body, including his wheels, turn white.
Personality
Dran is a child, but is still mature enough to understand the dangers and is knowledgeable of events like the Stride Gate being opened, Gyze being summoned, and phenomena such as Different World Ride and Dimensional Overstride. He is very optimistic and kind and is intent on helping his friends to save their world and his own. Due to being Chrono's avatar, and having had the rare opportunity to meet his other self, Dran cares deeply for Chrono, a feeling that's mutual. When Chrono began questioning his meeting with Dran in the wake of the successful summoning of Gyze, Dran was noticeably distraught to the point of tears at Chrono wishing they'd never met, showing how much Dran values their friendship and bond.
Background
Chrono Dran is one of the original Zodiac Time Beasts, specifically the "Time of the Dragon". He is also the younger version of Chronojet Dragon, who arrived at the current timeline from a separate one due to the Gear Chronicle Singularity event, which brought Stride to Planet Cray and Earth. He is able to turn into Chronojet Dragon for a short amount of time.
The Chrono Dran in the lore is one of a different universe. That Chrono Dran traveled the world, making many notable friends such as Gavrail, Ahsha, Altmile, Harri, and Luquier. He has also met Dragonic Overlord. Despite being a machine, he considers Uluru to be a motherly figure, while Chronojet Dragon he considers to be his grandpa. He also has many retainers to keep him safe from his childish antics, but also to keep him hidden, as his existence is a secret, and his power volatile and exploitable.
