"Claret Sword Dragon" (クラレットソード・ドラゴン Kuraretto Sōdo Doragon) is a series of cards with "Claret Sword Dragon" in its card name exclusive to the Shadow Paladin clan. The first card was introduced in G Booster Set 3: Sovereign Star Dragon and received further support in G Booster Set 4: Soul Strike Against The Supreme.

Claret Sword Dragon is...
A knight of the black knights "Shadow Paladin" that lives in the darkness of the holy nation. It is called by the name of "Claret Sword" due to its sword that is stained as red as blood. It holds the belief that "might makes right," and although it belongs to the knights that "support the holy nation from the shadows", it disagrees with that idea.
Playstyle[]
Claret Sword Dragon's main distinction from other Shadow Paladin vanguards lies in his ability to superior call any grade 1 or lower rear-guards to field from the deck when stridden over by a G unit, offering the player a stable field presence, toolboxing as well as rear-guards to retire to activate the powerful skills of Shadow Paladin's G units. Claret Sword's own retinue of rear-guard support feature skills that activate when they or other rear-guards are retired, complementing the majority of Shadow Paladin's G zone.
The release of Supremacy Dragon, Claret Sword Dragon Revolt and it's related G unit, Supremacy True Dragon, Claret Sword Helheim would see an even more vigorous emphasis on grade 1 units, with the prior being able to search for even more grade 1 units than the original Claret Sword while the latter G unit is able to call more grade 1 or lower rear-guards during the battle phase to mount a vicious series of attacks. To complement this emphasis on grade 1s even further, the deck would receive Morion Spear Dragon, a grade 2 that is treated as a grade 1 in the deck.
The V iteration of Claret Sword Dragon functions as an aggressive restanding vanguard who in reference to his heavy association with grade 1 units in the prior format, increases it's own [Power] 
based on how many grade 1 units it sends from the top of deck to the drop zone via it's 1st skill and can [Stand] 
again to mount a second attack via binding seven grade 1 units from the drop zone.
