"Kai Loses!!" is the 9th episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard and the 379th episode of the Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime.
Plot[]
The "Solitary Fighter", Toshiki Kai, and "Emperor of the world of cards", Kenji Mitsusada, face off in the third match of the shop battle. The two highly skilled fighters are neck and neck in this climactic fight where both of them use their trump cards.

Both players ride their vanguards: Kai's is Lizard Runner, Undeux (G0, 6000 POW) and Koutei's is Dimensional Robo, Goyusha (G0, 6000 POW).

Aermo (8000) attacks the vanguard but Koutei guards with Dimensional Robo, Daibattles (23000). Bahr (8000) attacks the vanguard and Koutei takes one damage.

Koutei calls Masked Police, Grander (G2, 10000 POW) to the front right and Cosmo Beak (G2, 10000 POW) to the front left. With Cosmo Beak's on place skill, Koutei counterblasts 1 to give itself and Daidragon a +5k power bonus.
Grander (10000) attacks Aermo. Daidragon (15000) attacks the vanguard and Koutei drive checks a critical trigger, giving the power to Cosmo Beak and the critical to Daidragon. Kai takes two damage. Cosmo Beak (25000) attacks the vanguard but Kai guards with Dragon Monk, Genjo (28000).

He rides Berserk Dragon (G2, 10000 POW). With its on place skill, Kai counterblasts 1 and soulblasts 1 to retire Grander, and then since Berserk Dragon is the vanguard, Kai draws a card.
Kai calls Bellicosity Dragon (G2, 10000 POW) to the front left and Aermo to the back left.
Berserk Dragon (10000) attacks the vanguard and Koutei takes one damage but checks a draw trigger, drawing a card and giving the power to his vanguard. Boosted by Aermo, Bellicosity Dragon attacks Cosmo Beak and with Aermo's skill when boosting, it gets a +3k power bonus (21000) but Koutei guards with Daibattles (25000).

He rides Super Dimensional Robo, Daiyusha (G3, 13000 POW) and gets an Imaginary Gift: Force, putting it on the vanguard circle and giving Daiyusha a +10k power bonus.
Koutei calls Dimensional Robo, Daibrave (G1, 8000 POW) to the back right and Daidragon (G2, 10000 POW) to the front right. With Daidragon's skill, Koutei soulblasts 1 to give Daiyusha a +5k power bonus.
Cosmo Beak (10000) attacks Bellicosity Dragon. Daiyusha (28000) attacks the vanguard and Koutei drive checks Daibattles (critical trigger) on the second check, giving the power to Daiyusha and the critical to Daidragon. With Daiyusha's skill, since its power now exceeds 35000, it gets an extra critical. With Daidragon's skill for the same reason, it gets a +10k power bonus. Kai takes two damage. Kai calls Bellicosity Dragon (G2, 10000 POW) to the front left. With Overlord's skill, Kai soulblasts 1 to give it a +10k power bonus.
Overlord (33000) attacks the vanguard and Kai drive checks Embodiment of Spear, Tahr (critical trigger) on the second check, giving all effects to Overlod. Koutei takes 2 damage. With Overlord's on hit skill, Kai counterblasts 1 and discards 2 from hand to stand it with one less drive check. Overlord (43000, 2 crit) attacks the vanguard but Koutei uses Diamond Ace to perfect guard, discarding a card. Kai drive checks Tahr (critical trigger), giving both effects to Bellicosity Dragon. Boosted by Aermo (8000) and with its +3k power bonus as a skill, Bellicosity Dragon (31000) attacks the vanguard but Koutei guards with Daibattles and intercepts with Cosmo Beak (33000).

Koutei draws a card.
Using Daidragon's (G2, 10000 POW) skill, Koutei soulblasts 1 to give Daiyusha (G3, 13000 POW) a +5k power bonus. Using Daibrave's skill, Koutei soulblasts 1 to give Daiyusha a +5k power bonus. Koutei calls Cosmo Beak to the front left and with its on place skill, he counterblasts 1 to give both itself and Daiyusha a +5k power bonus. Since Daiyusha's power exceeds 35000 with the force gift, it gets an extra critical. With Daiyusha's skill, Koutei rests Daibrave to give it a +10k power bonus.
Daiyusha (48000, 2 crit) attacks the vanguard but Kai uses Wyvern Guard, Barri to perfect guard, discarding a card. Koutei drive checks Daibattles (critical trigger) on the second check, giving all effects to Cosmo Beak. Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daiyusha 's skill activates from hand since Daiyusha's power is over 45000 and wasn't placed this turn, and Koutei soulblasts 1 to ride it as stand and it gets a +10k power bonus. With its on ride skill, Great Daiyusha, Cosmo Beak, and Daidragon get a +10 power bonus and since Great Daiyusha's power exceeds 35000, Daidragon gets another +10k power bonus. Furthermore, Koutei gets an Imaginary Gift: Force from the ride and puts it on the front right circle, giving Daidragon a +10k power bonus. Overlord (33000) attacks the vanguard but Koutei guards with Daibattles and Dimensional Robo, Daitiger (38000). Kai drive checks Tahr (critical trigger), giving all effects to Overlord and dealing the two damage needed to seal the win.
