Episode 23: Fateful Encounter

Fateful Encounter (運命の出会い) is the 23rd episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard: Season 1 in the Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime.

Summary[]

Aichi, Kamui and Misaki visit Card Shop PSY after Suiko's invitation. They meet an aloof red-haired stranger with a peculiar attitude. However, once the Ultra Rare group arrives, they learn that he is none other than Suzugamori Ren, the winner of the previous national tournament! Kourin and Ren engage in a cardfight and Aichi, who had been beaten by Kourin before, watches in amazement as Ren easily controls the match. Strangely using the same speech patterns that Kai does during his matches, Ren uses a seemingly simple Grade 1 card called Blazer Idols to finish the game. However, what are these visions that Aichi has of the planet Cray, when Ren is about to make his move...?

Kourin draws a card. She rides Battle Sister, Chocolat (Grade 1/Oracle Think Tank/6000 power) and use Sphere Magus's first skill to move itself to the rear-guard circle. She ends her turn.

He then called Battle Sister, Cocoa (Grade 1/Oracle Think Tank/6000 power) and use Cocoa's skill to check the top card of his deck. After checking, he decided to put that card on top of his deck.

He then attacks Chocolat (6000 power) with Milk (6000 power). He Drive Check reveals Maiden of Libra (Grade 2/Oracle Think Tank/9000 power). Kourin Damage Check reveals Lady Bomb (Megacolony/No Trigger) and her damage has increased to 1. Next, he attacks Chocolat (6000 power) with Cocoa (6000 power). Kourin Damage Check reveals Weather Girl, Milk (Oracle Think Tank/No Trigger) and her damage has increased to 2. Ren ends his turn.

She rides Top Idol, Aqua (Grade 2/Bermuda Triangle/10000 power), and calls Blazer Idols (Grade 1/Bermuda Triangle/6000 power) and Weather Girl, Milk (Grade 1/Oracle Think Tank/6000 power). He uses Blazer Idols's skill to give 2000 power to Aqua (10000 power -> 12000 power). She then called another Blazer Idols to the right and use its skill to give 2000 power to left Blazer Idols (6000 power -> 8000 power).

First, she attack Milk (6000 power) with right Blazer Idols (6000 power). Ren Damage Check reveals Bermuda Triangle Cadet, Caravel (Grade 0/Bermuda Triangle/No Trigger) and his damage has increased to 1. Next, Kourin attack Milk (6000 power) with Aqua (12000 power) boosted by Milk (6000 power) (total power: 18000 power). Then, he attacks left Blazer Idols (6000 power) with Maiden of Libra (9000 power) boosted by Sphere Magus (3000 power) plus its skill by gain 3000 power when boost (3000 power -> 6000 power) (total power: 15000 power). He Drive Check reveals Top Idol, Aqua (Bermuda Triangle/No Trigger). Blazer Idols is retired, and he use Libra's skill when the attack hits, he may Counter Blast (2) to draw one card. Next, he attacks right Blazer Idols with Lady Bomb (9000 power) boosted by Cocoa (6000 power) (total power: 15000 power). She then attacks Libra (9000 power) with Flores (10000 power) boosted by Milk (6000 power) (total power: 16000 power). Next, he called Blazer Idols (Grade 1/Bermuda Triangle/6000 power) to the back of the Vanguard and use its skill to give 2000 power to the Vanguard due to its clan is Bermuda Triangle.

He then begins attacks opponent's Flores (10000 power) with his rear-guard Flores (10000 power). The attack hit and Kourin's cards in Damage Zone has increased by 1. Next, he attacks Flores (10000 power) again with his Vanguard Flores (12000 power) boosted by Blazer Idols (6000 power) (total power: 18000 power). He Twin Drive reveals Lady Bomb (Megacolony/No Trigger) and Dream Eater (Oracle Think Tank/Draw Trigger) He gives 5000 power to Lady Bomb (9000 power -> 14000 power) and draws a card. He then begins his attack on Vanguard's Flores (10000 power) with Lady Bomb (9000 power) boosted by Cocoa (6000 power) (total power: 15000 power). Kourin doesn't guard and Damage Check reveals Bermuda Triangle Cadet, Caravel (Bermuda Triangle/No Trigger). Her cards in Damage Zone have increased by 1. He then attacks her Vanguard (10000 power) again with his Vanguard (10000 power) boosted by Blazer Idols (6000 power) (total power: 16000 power) but Kourin guards with Oracle Guardian, Nike (Grade 0/10000 shield) (total power: 20000 power). He then Twin Drive Check reveals Battle Sister, Cocoa (Bermuda Triangle/No Trigger) and Weather Girl, Milk (Oracle Think Tank/No Trigger). The attack did not hit but he continued his final attack on Vanguard with his rear-guard Flores (14000 power) boosted by Blazer Idols (6000 power) (total power: 20000 power). She cannot guard and Damage Check reveals Battle Sister, Chocolat. Her cards in Damage Zone are now six and Ren win.
