"Hammsuke" (はむすけ Hamusuke) is a set of High Beast cards that include "Hammsuke" in their card names exclusive to the Great Nature clan, introduced in Booster Set 7: Rampage of the Beast King.
Playstyle[]
The Sub-Clan focuses on the ability of the original Hammsuke's different forms to search out extra copies of themselves if they are retired during the end phase, while Hammsuke's allies support them with effects such as powering them up and returning copies from the Drop Zone to the deck.
In the V Series, the original Hammsuke and its forms return, now focusing on having the different grades in the soul to acquire multiple Accel Imaginary Gifts. Some of the newly introduced cards can also add cards from the hand into the soul in to help with the soul requirements of Pencil Hero, Hammsuke (V Series).
Design[]
The sub-clan is based around a school idol known as Hammsuke, and his friends, classmates, and rivals. The group itself is designed as an archetype, however since the support cards also include "Hammsuke" in their card names (such as "Hammsuke's Rival" or "Hammsuke's Classmate"), they are treated as a sub-clan. They are all vibrantly colored small rodents, with the basis of their appearances being the namesake hamster, and wield different writing implements as weapons, such as pencils, fountain pens, and even crayons. Some of their forenames may possibly be taken after prominent figures in Japanese history:
- Hammsuke = Sarutobi Sasuke
- Hammjiro = Sasaki Kojirō
- Hammkichi = Fukuzawa Yukichi
- Hammzo = Katō Danzō, Hijikata Toshizō, or Hattori Hanzō
- Hammy = Hibari Misora

Trivia[]
- Most of the members share the same illustrator, Kawasumi.
- This trend was broken with the release of V Extra Booster 10: The Mysterious Fortune. Both Hammna and Hammdon are drawn by different illustrators.
- All of the members drawn by Kawasumi appear in Immortality Professor, Sahasrara Veera's artwork.
- Sahasrara Veera was also drawn by Kawasumi.
