"The Masked Ghost" is the 15th episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard G and the 211th of the Cardfight!! Vanguard Anime.

Plot[]

A story about Masked Ghost started spreading among cardfighters. He is said to challenge many players and rob their avatar cards when he wins. At the same time, Shion is scouted by the National Fencing Association to be a professional. When the Masked Ghost attacked Ryota, Shion sacrifices his chance to be a professional to save him.

Shion faces Masked Ghost with a handicap; he can only use 4 triggers in his deck, in exchange with the rule that if Shion wins the cardfight, Masked Ghost would return back the stolen cards (the number of stolen cards is 12, hence Shion needs to reduce 12 triggers from his deck). Shion quickly deduced the identity of Masked Ghost; Yuya Karasumori, one of his acquaintances and fencing rivals, by his unique footwork (which gives him the title "Speed King"), and by the word he said before any of his cardfights, which is heard by people as "Edogawaku", but actually means "êtes-vous prêts?", which is translated to "are you ready?", which is usually used in fencing.

Without triggers, Shion struggles to fight against Yuya. Shion fought back with his new ace, Divine Knight of Flashing Flame, Samuel, which gives Yuya a skill damage with its effect. Yuya counters by Legioning Locus Liberator, Asclepius, and proceed to drive checks 2 criticals, leaving Shion with 4 damages and no cards in his hand. Not giving up, Shion Strides Samuil again, and break through Yuya's defense by getting a double trigger in his triple drive.

Lost to Shion, Yuya returned back the card he stole, and he vowed that "this is not over!" to Shion, before leaving the crime scene, as well as his Gold Paladin deck behind.
