"Gandeeva" (ガーンデーヴァ Gāndēva) is an archetype exclusive to the Dragon Empire nation, first introduced in D Booster Set 10: Dragon Masquerade. The archetype is closely related to the Scarlet Flame Sub-Nation who serve as support for the Gandeeva archetype.

Playstyle

Like most Dragon Empire archetypes, Gandeeva places a strong emphasis on retiring the opponent's rear-guards. Each time an opponent's rear-guard is retired, Gandeeva can bind a card from the player's own Drop Zone face-down, further fueling Gandeeva's [CONT] ability to give [Power] +2000 to the front row for each face down card in the player's Bind Zone.

As a means to counteract opponents that attempt to prevent retire effects by leaving few or no rear-guards on their field, Gandeeva and its supporting cards are able to draw a card and bind a card from the Drop Zone should any of their retire effects fail to retire a rear-guard, ensuring that Gandeeva's gameplan can proceed regardless. Supporting units can also bind themselves or other cards face-down as costs for their abilities, further powering up the player's field in the process.
