Card with the "Restraint" keyword
Keywords (キーワード能力 Kīwādo nōryoku) are special words which represent an ability, some of them being identified with a symbol. They work as a form of shorthand in order to save both space on the card text and time when reading them. Keywords can be referenced by card effects, such as for give or remove a specific ability, as well as require a card with it.
In card texts, a reminder text about the keyword may be included, which is shown as parenthesized italicized text, which explains the main function of the ability. The reminder text has no effect on gameplay, but reminds the players of the rules about how the keyword ability works. Because of this, the reminder text does not include all details (such as Stride), but it does not mean that it works differently either.
Exclusive Keywords[]
With the release of G Clan Booster 1: Academy of Divas, several clans (except Link Joker so far) have a keyword exclusive to their own cards, which either works as a specific action, requirement, restriction, or a unit's state. While Link Joker has the special actions (Lock, Delete, and Vanish Delete) associated with it, these are not keywords.
Keyword Searcher[]
Some keyword abilities can also have a grade 3 card, which possesses the ability to search for up to one card with the associated keyword from the top five cards of the deck upon riding by paying a certain cost (usually Counter Blast 1 & Soul Blast 1).
