Truth be told I haven't been practicing in premium lately due to the lockdown and stuff, but I have been messing around with Altmile a little bit. So first my "cowardly Altmile" build where I spam Alectos and try to tank up myself up to second stride.
So this build works as it always did, spam Alectos with Damascus, be lucky and draw into many Heals to spam G Guards for Twin Sword or simply tank up to second stride. It works, it's fun, but it doesn't mesh up well with the newer support, that's why it barely changes. Sadly this deck needs Deity Altmile to work. I was thinking though of a premium version of the Standard build which is:
Grade 0s 17: 1 V-Millius, 4 Amulet Pure Eagle (Crit), 4 V Epona (crit), 4 V Iseult (Draw PG), 3 V Elaine, 1 Remedy Angel
G Zone: Doesn't really matter since we'll be striding Twin Sword most of the time right?
So this build plays pretty much like the Standard build early, and switches up to the Premium playstyle once it strides. The game plan is to build a field early with Akane and Livarot to push for decent damage. Ideally you want to ride Aerial and spam as much CB as possible with Twin Sword stride into Suleiman and Albion/Twin Sword. Felax (V) helps you recover your Suleiman discards which is crucial as this deck lacks any draw power. Ideally you'd be burning up all your CB on your Twin Sword turns so that you can use Aerial on your opponent's turn (not sure how effective that will be in Premium) and try to survive in order to end it by second stride. Essentially, this build has a better early game and access to Gifts which in turn make first stride turn much deadlier, but trades away the draw power my first build has. This one is still untested though and there are probably a couple of stuff I left out, but so far I'm happy with how the two supports integrate together.
Not gonna lie, I like this direction. I've heard from a lot of players that they were dropping Premium because they had to invest in different builds of the same clan. But this PremColle making it so that you can pretty much just take your standard build, slap a G Zone and get a viable deck out of it.
So pretty much a mixture of Speedy and Power aggressive. Suleiman and Livarot make sure that I rush early and can easily recover so here's the speedy part. The MVP (other than starlight) has to be Tion and Barron tbh. The extra 10k and 5k they offer along with 3 crit columns is soooo good for damage denying it (or just ending it early). Also, Pongal was actually surprisingly neat, even without Akane. Still messing with the build so I may add her as a 1-2 of copies one day.
I am still curious about the Tion addition. Her addition generally means, you'll be forced to commit to the board completely. Which means, if ya decide to rely on her heavily, you'll have to go the Force 2 route nearly all the time. You gunna be ok with that?
Here's the thing, Tion needs 5 units to attack, but she doesn't care about boosting. So my main plan with her is to use her as a booster to have my columns go for 49k with 3 crits (F2 and Aerial's crit) or 59k and 2 crit with F1. I'm stillwaiting for all the techy Rs and Cs to be revealed so that I can incorporate them into my deck.
Aah of course. Altmile with Starlight does give that option. Ok compact plays are possible. It will still suck if ya get into scenarios where you cannot access your main attackers and ya have to put this up front n center tho.
Oh please, do feel free to send me anything One Piece related.
I was anime only (but avoided any filler episodes) but stopped watching midway Dressrosa arc (during Luffy vs Chinjao). Picked it up again this august and caught up in about 3 weeks. Then I continued with the manga since I figured that once the series ends I'll probably be spoiled before it gets animated. I noticed how superior the manga was and then just started reading from Chapter 1 till our current 974. Gotta say, binge reading the manga was soooo good, much better than binge watching Dressrosa-Wano.
kek ye,anime dressrossa sucked.I was really tempted to drop the anime mid-arc and pick up the manga from there, but I somehow managed to carry it through till the end,and picked up the manga at the start of zou.I haven't binge read the manga from the beginning yet,my plan is to do that once the series ends.
as for one piece content, main thing you can do is follow Artur on twitter. This man is a treasure, the work he does for the community is amazing.Feel free to browse through his blog, the library of ohara(same link posted above with the fanmade chapters),there's ton of cool stuff on there(like all the translated info of the vivre cards databook).
Other than that,if you have a lot of free time and want to really get into the fandom, here's some youtubers:
Tekking-does disscussions about literally anything in the story, and also chapter reviews
RogersBase-does chapter live reactions/reviews,plus a bunch of other anime and video game stuff(mostly shonen jump and nintendo)
KOL-does chapter live reactions, and some disscussions when he feels like it.Content is more on the meme-y side.
Library of Ohara-Artur's yt channel. He usually posts stuff he wants to talk about in his blogs but works better in a video format.
Official Youtube channel-the official channel for one piece, run by (I think?) some of Oda's editors. For now it's mostly just product commercials, but since it's official I thought I'd post it.And also that channel banner was drawn by Oda!And look,Vivi and Jinbe are on there too!(according to Oda Vivi's still a strawhat)
Yonko-this guy is mainly an anime news leaker on twitter, follow him on there if you want to get very early hints about upcoming anime related stuff(like manga getting anime adaptations,or new seasons of stuff being announced). He's also a big one piece fan,so I thought I'd mention him.
I guess check'em out and see which ones you like. Also if you want,I think all of them other than sawyer have an active twitter account,so you can follow them on there too.
Twitter and yt are the main sites where I get my info from.Other than that,if you didn't know already, official translations of chapters are available for free on Viz if you live in an english speaking country(or use a vpn :P),or on Mangaplus if you live anywhere else(Personally I don't like the official translation that much, but it's the best we got since the 2 main fan translation groups got shut down after being given a cease and desist)
And since you just caught up recently,in case you haven't seen them, here's the recent cup noodle promo commercials that have really good animation and a lot of easter eggs(Artur has easter egg videos for them on his channel):
i mostly watch tekking because the dude is funny to watch plus he brings alot of energy when he talks, i stilll say one pice needs wayyy more time than 5 years to finsih off , id say no later than 2030 atleast.
Jucatorul7 wrote: you mean just straight up spoilers or the fan translation for the chapter?I don't really look at spoilers anymore,it ruins my enjoyment of reading the actual chapter
I wish I had your patience :( I used to wait for the actual chapter to be released but since the Oden Flashback's started I couldn't wait a day longer so I just looked up at the spoilers.
And yeah on the 1v1 fights. I just remembered that Orochi had his own Task Force. So most Straw Hats can take one of them at a time, barring Zoro and Sanji for bigger threats. I need a 1v1 Zoro and King in my life.
Are you one of those who think that the Grand Fleet will appear in Wano or one of those that think it'll appear on the Blackbeard/WG/Final arc? I think I'm the latter. But the sheer fact of Big Mom being in Wano makes me think that Jinbei should arrive in Wano at some point and another part of me wants Jinbei to bring the grand fleet with him >.<
I mean,I feel like they have to?It was teased that they'll take part in the greatest war,and that's what kaido wants to make.It just works.
As for jinbe,I still subscribe to the homie theory. If that's not true, then his introduction in the arc will just be a repeat of his whole cake introduction, just saving the strawhats in the last minute, and that seems boring.
i jus want him to come back and stay with the crew already like he jus joined and left, and he had really awesome moments in whole cake especially when he surfed a freaking tidal wave. but i feel after wano stuff will die down and resolve itself, cause after wano theirs 2 warlords left, well 1 if luffy and shanks team up to take out blackbeard, then after that 1 final showdown with the marines at laugh tale then series done imo but well have to do alot of resoulton and wrap up cause oda cannot be dropping anymore hints cauase we have enough as is
Side note, but my manga app posted a different translation from the one I read yesterday,(which was also a lot better than what I read)and after a bit of digging I found out that it was made by cupboard scans.Their translations seem to be the best ones we got right now,so try to follow them for now if you were using other sources.
That Kinemon gif is extremely accurate. I just find it so amusing that Oda made him look so serious at that panel.
And aaaah, X-Drake, my once favorite supernova. Seeing that fanart reminded me that in One Piece world it's been a week since the Marines tried to aprehend the Shichibukai right? I wonder if we get any updates on that in between Acts 3 and 4 or if they straight up leave it for after Wano as a whole.
couldn't find anything specific, but I remembered that right before the part 2 end we had a mini timeskip where we just zoomed by the last 4-5 days till the raid in a few panels,so I guess it could work out.
I actually really liked it.After having all of those flashback chapters where the pacing was really fast,it's nice to have a slower-paced chapter that focuses on the details a bit more.I also especially liked the dialouge between momo and luffy,it's nice setup for the climax of the war,and it sorta gave me Robin Enies Lobby vibes.Just really good all around.
And Jinbe is back!!And with that, the homie theory is proven wrong. But now,I have to wonder, what was the point of making him stay behind a second time, instead of him joining up at the end of whole cake? Maybe he brought the rest of the charlottes with him? I'd be cool to see katakuri take part in the war.
Jinbe's smile in the last few panels is precious. Hmmmmm. Idk about him bringing the Charlottes (I'm a firm believer that Katakuri and co will stay in WCI only for Blackbeard to invade while Big Mom is in Wano). But, I could see Jinbe gathering some of their other allies like renmants of Whitebeard (along with Marco and Ino) and Germa 66 (they were together in WCI after all). This would leave the Grand Fleet for later.
I mean ye,most likely.Just imagine the double page spread of the scabbards entering kaido's mansion in onigashima.
Speaking of stuff that Oda will make true,I like the idea that the symbol they used on the pieces of paper to tell people a rebellion is happening will actually be Luffy's face in gear 4,the shapes line up too well for it to be a coincidence.
Just saw your comment asking for my Mordred list so here it is:
4 Mordred, 2 Baddaden, 1 Lughaid, 1 Danger-lunge
4 Blaster Dark, 4 Masquerade, 4 Morion Spear
4 Branwen, 4 Nemain, 3 Swordbreaker, 2 Masquerade
1 David, 8 crit, 4 Mac Lir, 4 heal
I was using a G3 lineup of 4 Mordred, 3 Onyx Dust, 2 Danger-lunge but after playing around with Ryan Kai's build I came to like it way more, so this is my take on it. The entire deck is basically one big toolbox because you have so many cards that can access either your deck or your drop zone. Baddaden and Lughaid are such powerful cards that it's often worth putting 1 of them behind the VG and just abusing it for the rest of the game. Fallen Dive Eagle isn't great in the current meta but will likely come back if we enter a TRY3 meta (Ahsha especially).
Fallen Dive is kinda niche where I play because we got a decent amount of Melody stuff but I was debating yesterday whether I should remove it for a 3rd Morion. Was thinking of adding Lughaid but I noticed that there are times I don't even have enough G1s in the drop for Branwen. Might be because I playtest against a lot of Narukami instead of other decks though. I was also tempted to drop either Onyx or Danger-lunge to 1 in favor of adding a 2nd Bathaden cause that card is seriously so good.
Oh yeah definitely. What I meant was that I struggle to get into 3 G1s for Branwen, which makes me debate whether Lughaid is worth it for 1 draw. But again, most of my matchups were against my Narukami and I only used 2 Morion so maybe that won't be the case for other matchups with 3 Morions.
Every time I try and build altmile premium with Twin Sword in mind, I can’t help but think that blasters would be better and can never finish the deck. If our progenitor was actually good, I’d feel better. Right now I just feel like missing out on IG is really hurtful
Tbh I never really cared if Blasters were better than Altmile (especially during G-BT06 days) so I never had that issue. But yeah, not having a gift definitely puts us as a big disadvantage. What we do have though in my opinion are much better defensive and drawing plays than Blasters, so we are better at playing the long game.
Defence? Sure. Draw advantage? Yes, but volatile? Conditional? Telegraphed? I haven't touched Altmile at all ever since the game got divided into 2 Formats but if my memory serves me, Altmile builds that focused on draw power were heavily hampered by Control decks. You're literally forced to ramp up your draw plays on your turn rather than whenever you like. Why not just take the rush approach? I've had way betr outcomes with those rather than the draw.
That used to be the case tbh, but the game changed to the point where holding a bit back is the better play (under my testings at least). Bi found that the new triggers, PG draw included, along with 3 Alectos have given me a pretty stable and consistent longetivity against most matchups. Against control I don't care much since most of my RGs get retired by the end of turn, and against LJ I just try to spam resist as much as possible.
On my end, this worked better than the rush approach.
Have ya tried rushing with cards like say Diotus? I found it to be a highly powerful and solid support unit for the deck and I've always found success with its use. One of the key successes I had with it was against Messiahs and I managed to finish them off before either side could even perform their first Stride.
Wow, I actually forgot that I even said anything here lol
KHII rocks >A<
Anyways, yes, Blasters are better. No, I don't care if you still like Altmile better, like, I know Thavas is better, but I prefer Accel and I don't mind. But really, le Blasters have a stronger early push that doesn't easily die to trigger thanks to Force, and pretty much almost always have access to the Flogal engine, especially thanks to Twin Sword.
Also, can we just call it an Alfred deck now? I mean, the deck is more Alfred than it is Blasters and there's already an actual proper archettpe of Blasters.
Thavas isn’t better after the new support. You’d be wise to stop calling it as such.
And this is my second time trying to post this message so here we go again. I’ve been trying a 3 Alectos build but haven’t gotten the list nailed down. Trying some of the G1s that gain grade +1 so we don’t run out of targets, which is a problem I’ve run into. Using twin sword, suleiman and and undecided G2 currently. I’ve also thought about going old altmile still with the rush 8k grade 2 that searches the 6k sb2 draw card, but we’ll see. Damascus is 100% necessary
@Drew if you don't mind me asking, how is Accel better after the new support? The main problems the accel build had was the lack of good restanders for Alex(and even if you want to focus on Valeos instead, you need restanders for that as well) and lack of good drawpower without using cards like Saberflow which aren't good offensively(I guess that if you build your deck around Valeos and use a bunch of cards like Coral Assault that cycle themselves you could get enough drawpower...maybe)
Comments on my build: You could drop an Iseult for a 9th crit and add a Hope Keeper on the G1 lineup for consistent searching. I didn't feel the need to do it quite frankly, but I'm not fond of Sicilus anw so I might add her later down the line. For Grade 2s, 4 Suleiman and 3 Albion are essentially a must. Albion would be a 4 of with 0 Twin Sword had it not been for Altmile and Septgal eating up a soul, but we got our Grade 0s that can soul charge back for that. You can mess a bit with Septgal's, Cast's and Redon's numbers as well.
Now, about your running out of G2s issue, that's where Immortal Fides and Halbwachs come into play. They pretty much filter out the rest of your deck since non of them is restricted to G2 calls.
Not that I'm saying not to Altmile, but now that you mentioned it, I wanna add that the advantage of Alfred is that the main multi-attack comes from Flogal, which you recycle by her own effect and use many other cards to take out to field, unlike Altmile's multi-attack engine which relies on superior calling units from deck a lot of times and having to take a slow turn to recycle resources (as in the units).
Call me crazy, but I feel like there’s an argument to be had for the US Progenitor. Maybe use his skill, or maybe don’t, but we have like a guaranteed way to go into it @Pictus. We could just run the 4 Altmile and 1 Pictus to free up space. Luard does it just fine, and we have a fantastic searcher @starter.
Think I’m gonna go
4 Deity Alt, 1 Pic
4 Suleiman, 4 Albion (extenders are too important to keep at lower numbers imo. If we damage check one then we are already in a worse situation. Need as many in deck), and then 5-6 undecided G2s
Personally would cut the stride fodder for +2 altmile and +1 of something else. I’ve never ridden into the wrong mile cause milius. The rest of it seems fine. Clearly going for a tankier build. Weird to see draws in altmile
After playtesting with 4 Draws myself back when Twin Sword was revealed, I feel more comfortable running them over 12 crits, so it kinda feels both right and wrong at the same time lol. And yeap, I'd definitely remove those Sicilus for more Felax, Damascus/Soniccgal and a Grade 3. Paccgal is a fun addition with FIdes since he can call it for extra attacks, but I don't think it'll see play when Twin Sword is released.
And yeeee, also kinda leaning towards 3 Alectos myself.
