  • I was wondering if there was any way we could set up the "Type" parameter to be based on "trigger" words? I don't know how to explain it, but as an example, I'd like to add something similar to the "Generation Break" template, where inputting "V" in the zone parameter would equal to "(VC)", "B" would be "Bind Zone", "D" would be "Drop Zone", etc. I'd like the same for the GradeList template, where inputting "Crit" in the "Type" parameter would automatically make it "Trigger unit (Critical)", or inputting "Stride" would make it "G unit (Stride)". It's not something that's necessary, but it would be a slight help while we update all the pages.

  • The parameter |unittype only responds to "G Unit". Typing "G unit" will make the table display the unit as "Normal Unit".

I think it's not supposed to be so?

      Loading editor
    • Actually, it's not a bug, "normal unit" is just the default, and the template commands are case sensitive in general.

        Loading editor
    • No, the command "G unit" is also listed in the template, Otakon.

There are two commands strings words that should respond by displaying G Unit in a card table: "G Unit" and "G unit". The former works, the latter doesn't.

    • I haven't been around for a while, so I'm not too familiar with some of the changes made.

I've just had a look at code and it is just as Otakon said: there's no bug, it is just case sensitive hence why "G unit" doesn't work. It only accepts "G Unit" or "G" if you want the parameter unittype to display "G Unit".

    • Ah, I guess I misunderstood Otakon's words. Well, this will be a good reference for the future.

  • Yahho~

I heard you're the one that helped making said template.

Let's start with the problems I found:

    1. no color for cray elemental.
    2. dark irregulars and dark device starts with "dark", and both of them belong to different nations, hence different colors.

While I understand the code, I tried to fix it, but to no avail. Can you help with this?

  • Hey NeonRiser! I'm Jamie from FANDOM's Community Development team! Not sure if we never asked you if you are interested in turning on the Discussions feature for this community, and migrating the Threaded Forums across as well. I also left this message on Spike Seyfried's wall.

In case you are unaware of the feature, Discussions was introduced last year to help communities engage with users and fans. It lives in its own space on the wiki and allows users to interact with other members of the community. It is also mobile friendly and gives mobile users a chance to contribute and engage with the community, and possibly turn them into wiki editors as well. Discussions also links with our FANDOM Apps, which this community has and it allows app users to easily take part in Discussions as well. You can read more about Discussions here.

For more information on migrating forums to Discussions, you can check out this blog over on Community Central that explains everything in detail.

If you have some concerns, Discussions, and Forums can exist side-by-side in case you do not want to migrate just yet. However, eventually all Forums will be migrated over to Discussions and Forums will be sunsetted as a feature, so getting ahead of the curve is never a bad idea.

Feel free to have an open discussion with your community about this, and I'm available for any questions you might have. Have a good one!

  • Hey, I was wondering if we could change our page layout for character pages to include tabs in a manner similar to those of Fate/Grand Order, Type Moon, DDLC, etc? I am aware that this could potential create more pages but it would make everything look less cluttered on the main page itself.

    • My mind went directly to romantic ones because of stuff like Aichi x Kourin or Miguel x Tokoha being popular on Facebook and from people in our own comment sections as well lol.

    • I understand; people can get really into their preferred pairings so I get wanting to abstain from such things and prevent flame wars, etc.

  • Say, you wouldn't happen to have access to the server where the wikia is on?

Would be nice to be able to tamper with the core files, could do so much more stuff.

    • No, I do not. Sorry.

    • Aw...

Guess that option got lost with Zeta lol

EDIT: Well, I managed to kinda achieve what I wanted anyway:

      http://cardfight.wikia.com/wiki/Template:SpoilerStart

      http://cardfight.wikia.com/wiki/Template:SpoilerEnd

Everything below the Set template is hidden, and if you want to continue typing below it, use End. I added some character padding to push the content out of the activity list. Ain't too pretty, but it works.

      There be spoilers ahead...

One flaw tho... the content still shows if you use on a wall post as it doesn't actually use the template then.

  • Koutei and I had the idea of including sub-clans and archetypes into the GradeList css as well. Would you be able add them in? If you could, sub-clans and archetypes that span different clans would just stay black.

      Loading editor
    • Also would there be a way of making a table similar to GradeList but with different column titles such as "Set Name" and "Number of Cards" to be used with the card sets and "Name", "Type", and "Description" for the card themes and races?

        Loading editor
    • The GradeList css section is just a styling that can be applied to any table so there's no need to add anything. By default the table header is black.

If you want a table with different column names just make another template.

    • I finally figured it out. Sorry for all the trouble. Thanks!

  • So I've been trying to remove the coding that changes "Kagero" to "Kagerō" (as we've changed it to match the English) with no luck. Could you fix it for me?

  • Is there any way to change the appearance of a normal wikitable so that it matches the appearance of the cardtable? At least with the border and the column titles.
