Don't know if I am qualified to recommend any games, since I am also a new fan of the franchise, but the first game I played all the way through(I did mess around with the GBA games before, but never fully completed them) was Shadows of Valentia.I know some older fans don't really like it since a lot of the mechanics are different, but I really loved it.The strategy elements combined with the exploration-dungeon crawl were great, the game is fully voice acted, and the mechanics really streamlined the gameplay in a good way(I admit some things were too simplified.I think they could have kept the weapon triangle to encourage you to build a more well-rounded team, for example).
Since I loved shadows so much,I did buy birthright after finishing it,and the old mechanics felt very overcomplicated and clunky for me in comparison. The story and characters also felt very generic for me,I genuenly lost interest in that game after playing about half of it.
The list of remakes are Shadow Dragon which is a remake of the first.
Shadows of Valentia is a remake of the second
New Mystery of the Emblem (Japan only) is a remake of the third.
They're a lot more than remakes though with extended playable casts, new story beats, and a LOT of interesting game changes that makes each wildly different from what it was remaking in one way or another.
Remake is a really dirty word in a lot of media, so idk if that might be a problem for you generally, but these are really quality remakes. Don't try the games they remade first for impressions because it'd be "purer", because you'll be disappointed, lol.
I was wondering if you could reccomend any playthroughs you enjoy on YouTube or Soundcloud? I think you remember my attempt of playing it with the wiki a few years ago (and failing) but I genuinely want to try getting into it cause my friend loves DnD (but he lives like 40 minutes away so its hard to try irl). I think the problem I have is I like making my own story, i like having control, but i wouldnt want to be a dungeon master only, so I wanna know what people like about roleplaying as characters.
Also yeah while I remember, now I am dm-ing a game. I had a brief failed one because Hikari died again, a small one-shot with Metrona and George. My current one is on hold due to a broken laptop, but it has Klef, George and Sorin (and a personal friend.)
Just started getting into pokemon along with sibling the 1st, bought some structure decks (Primarina and alolan ninetails) after getting some as a gift (evolutions ones i think...seems pretty eh). Anyway managed to pull a rainbow rare(?) Primarina GX.
Now i dont need it to be tippity top tier, but any good lists for a casual/decent Prima focused water deck would be appreciated. (and my god that secondary market looks fabulous)
Yeah, Primarina ain't gonna be meta anytime soon (Lapras and Ninetales are really good), but it's still a fun casual deck. I'd structure it like this:
3-1-3 Popplio line
2-2 Octillery (Breakthrough)
You can bump each line if you want, and the reason you use only 1-2 Brionne (2 if you use a 4-2-4) is because Rare Candy is a thing. Seeing it's Casual I dropped Tapu Lele GX for a slightly bigger Octillery line although a 1-1 line can still work and is rather common
4 Proffesor Sycamore
These boys are staples. No questions asked. For techs there's Pokémon Center Lady, Brigette (less of a staple in this deck due to no lele), Proffesor Kukui, Acerola, Lillie and my favorite tech for this deck, Mallow. Mallow+Octillery is basically a search 2 cards, so if you feel spicy you could use up to 4 of her. The rest is more a 1-2 off.
4 Rare Candy
1-2 Field blower
3-4 Choice Band
4 Aqua Patch
4 Ultra Ball
2-4 Brooklet Hill
1-2 Rescue Stretchers/Super Rod
0-4 Max Elixers (Less consistent here, but you might get some use out of it.)
There's a misconception that I would like to clear up, I understand that necroing is not allowed so I decided to contact you directly. I come from a place of purely kindness. My purpose is solely educational. This is regarding Wakahirume no Mikoto sama. Thank you.
The misconception I would like to address is the existence of Wakahirume no Mikoto Sama's "mythical counterpart" (your wording). I understand it's very difficult to understand concepts of Shintoism, and even Shinto scholars are dumbfounded at times. You claim that Wakahirume no Mikoto Sama is still dead from Susanoo no Mikoto's outrage, however that is false. Most Shinto information is Japanese, so I understand that a lot of information can be lacking, or confusing.
Now, take what I say lightly, as I have not been ordained yet, but this is just the basics of Shintoism.
Wakahirume no Mikoto sama is still wordshipped in multiple shrines in Japan. Her main shrine is located in Kobe, The Ikuta Jinja. The shrine is dedicated to Wakahirume no Mikoto sama and founded by Empress Jingu.
I'm sure you get the idea of what I am saying. There are other Kami who have died, but are still a live. The concept is rather hard to grasp but you can think of it this way: When kami die, their energy disperses, and takes a long time to re form again. Similar to a concept of reincarnation, but the re formed kami is the same kami. Yes Wakahirume no Mikoto sama did indeed die, however she is still alive. Other scholars may have other explanations, however all of them agree that Wakahirume no Mikoto sama is very much alive.
I apologize if I am rather dramatic, as Wakahirume no Mikoto sama is very important to me, she is my Ujigami, and hopefully one day I can become a Kannushi (Priestess)for Wakahirume no Mikoto sama.
Ah, I see. so she's reformed after death, although this is up for scholary debate. Of course I am very uninformed in Shinto mythology as it's not something that I explore that often (and of course with most sources being in Japanese it makes translation very stiff to say the least.).
And I find it very interesting we do have someone who joined this wiki with a background like yours, as it is interesting to see your views on the units and their actual versions.
I hope in no way this or any other comment or any others I've made on this subject offended you as that isn't what I wanted to do. Either way I at the least have learned something new today.
Ah, I see. I must've misread it then. Either way that sounds pretty interesting.
As for the cult thing, it's a silly inside joke. As I'm probably the only person on the wiki who is known for playing a deck based around Zeal . I'm actually a Hindu myself. Not a priest or anything, but I do spend a lot of time researching it in my free time.
As for the respectful endings, something similiar is done for Hindu deities (Always use "Ji" which is the Hindi equivalant for 'Sama' and Mataji (Mata means mother) for any godesses.)
P.S. I think the show is actually kind of cool from Episode 1 and you don't need to understand everything about Ultraman history to enjoy it(even so they provide a Special Episode 0 to fill you in on all the backstory you need to know for this show).
Well yeah, because the last Crossover Set(The Ultraman Set which finally gave us Ultraman Spirits) was actually pretty good and unique and not broken like the main sets. So I hope for that for this Booster too.
Saying Cap was always a Hydra agent is such an awful thing to do seeing he made by Jews. Also replacing every hero basically. (Like some work out. Nova for example, but others are like Ironheart or Thor...)
