overDress Season 2[]
The team known as "Daybreak" is lead by Mirei. After Danji makes contact with Haruka to meet Mirei himself, Mirei enjoys their secret rendezvous. To close the distance between them, Mirei challenges Danji to a cardfight and wins. Later, she asks Danji to be her dedicated chauffeur. He initially declines because of Haruka but changes his mind upon seeing Mirei’s sadness over it. Danji and Mirei later meet Yu-yu and Tohya on their way to grab a parfait, and the four share a table together. Despite differing ideals between their teams, Yu-yu and Mirei decide to settle their differences with a cardfight. Feeling pressured and frustrated by the thought that Yu-yu and the others might be making fun of her for being a blind cardfighter, relying on stickers to identify her cards, Mirei tells Yu-yu that she used to play a Trickstar deck, seemingly downplaying it, before winning the match. Tohya calls her out, saying that her comment about Yu-yu's deck was unnecessary, which causes Mirei to tear up in front of Danji. Soon after, Masanori arrives with a car to take them, prompting Yu-yu, Tohya, and Megumi to realize that Mirei and Danji are members of the Daybreak team. They later meet again at a festival, but Mirei loses track of Yu-yu and the others in the crowd. While being rescued by Danji, Mirei is shocked to discover that Danji is actually Nadatsugu Minae, the brother she thought had passed away. Struggling with the belief that her brother had abandoned her and that she had suffered alone as the Minae family's successor, Mirei finally confronts Danji. She reveals how she had been lied to about his death and the pain of bearing the burden alone. She urges him to abandon the identity of Danji Momoyama and never let go of her as his sister again. Danji is stunned by how much she has changed since they were kids.
Yu-yu and Mirei later have a rematch at the top of Nagoya Castle, where Mirei desperately wants to win, burdened by her role as the team's leader. She views herself as the 'king' who must protect her 'country,' just like a character from her favorite picture book when she was a child. However, as she watches Yu-yu, who is simply having fun, even after his victory is nullified by an Over Trigger, Mirei realizes that her belief in bearing everything alone was a lie. The truth is, she’s been receiving strength from those around her. She no longer needs to fight for everyone's sake—she wants to fight alongside them and have fun with Yu-yu. After losing the match to Yu-yu, Mirei reflects on the mistakes she has made, but Yu-yu comforts her, encouraging her to lift her head and reminding her that they’ve all made similar mistakes. He promises to join her in deciding what to do next. Mirei and the rest of the Daybreak members then come together to apologize for burning the banner of other teams.
