Raika Koshiba is a character introduced in Cardfight!! Vanguard will+Dress. He is student council president of Yu-yu's high school. Raika is a former Champion of Under-18 Vanguard tournament. He is focused on results, and regards fights that you can laugh about even if you lose as just playing around.
From Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez onwards, he is one of the Three Rising Stars in Vanguard, alongside Senka Kanae and Suzune Rokuoin. After graduating from high school, he is currently a member of the professional team, Tirnanog. His goal is to surprass Michiru Hazama one day.
His insert song is Breaking the ROCK!!.

Raika's surname combines the kanji "狐", meaning "fox" with the kanji "芝", meaning "grass".
Appearance[]
Raika Koshiba has a dignified appearance, wearing his school's uniform at all times. The uniform consists of a navy blue suit lined with white, a white buttoned down shirt underneath with a blue tie, and gray colored slacks. He wears a badge on the left side of his chest. His hair is short, silver-colored and parted on the right side of his face. His eyes are angled with turquoise irises. Raika wears rimless glasses with a metal frame, only taking them off at key points when he cardfights (probably for dramatic flair). At the end of the match, he puts them back on.
Personality[]
Raika is stoic and confident in his skills. He believes that winning is everything and sees people that enjoy Vanguard as people that just play around and are not serious. Raika tends to be alone and dislikes friends due to unknown reasons. It's also revealed that he idolizes Michiru Hazama. When cardfighting, he is very rational with his choices and constantly researches before his matches.
History[]
Before the start of the series, Raika went to a tournament where Michiru was a special guest and Raika told him about how people call him weak, in which Michiru tells him to meet someone he wants to beat and that will give him strength, Michiru used himself as an example, which led to Raika's strong admiration and idolization of Michiru in hopes of one day being as good as him.

He is a member of a corporate youth team known as "Tirnanog Youth".

Raika has once again been invited by Jinki Mukae as one of the second Deluxe tournament participants. He ranked the 1st Place in Group A, defeating Kairo Hayami, supposedly Mondo Kirishima and one other fighter in preliminary then Himari Kanoachi in quarterfinals and Megumi Okura in semifinals. Raika makes it to the finals, where he defeats Taizo Kiyokura, making him the Deluxe champion.
Divinez DELUXE Arc[]
Even after passing the professional exam, Raika continued to improve himself by staying with his original team, Tirnanog Youth, until he graduated from high school. After graduating, he officially joined the professional team, Tirnanog, and showed remarkable performance in both team and individual matches. When he underperformed, he apparently received taunting messages from a certain American professional player.
Raika has once again been invited by Jinki Mukae as one of the third Deluxe tournament participants in Group C, losing to Kagetsu Yakumo but defeating Akina Myodo. He considers the tournament a challenge to him, even as the previous champion of the tournament.
