Destruction Dragon, Dark Rex

The "Rexes" (レックス Rekkusu) are a set of Dinodragon cards from the Tachikaze clan that include "Rex" in its card name. First introduced in Booster Set 1: Descent of the King of Knights, the series of cards would form into a sub-clan with the release of their first named support in Fighters Collection 2015 Winter.

Playstyle[]

Forming into a sub-clan during G Standard, the sub-clan's playstyle revolves around the bind zone as Rex units are usually able to bind themselves or other cards to increase the [Power] Power icon of the player's units while some members are capable of superior calling themselves or other cards from the bind zone to (RC), allowing for additional attacks that are not restricted by Generation Break. The most famous member of the sub-clan, Destruction Dragon, Dark Rex is even able to superior ride from the bind zone after an attack where the vanguard does not hit, allowing for an additional vanguard attack. Those units capable of emerging from the bind zone often retire their fellow rear-guards as a cost for their skills thus several supporting members carry skills that activate when they are retired which range from drawing additional cards to superior calling additional Rex cards from deck to (RC).

While not a sub-clan in V Premium, the members of the Rex series possess a close relation to the Equip Gauge mechanic that Tachikaze received, often expending the accumulated gauge for a variety of skills such as additional [Power] Power icon, reviving themselves from the drop zone to (RC) or most notoriously in the case of Ravenous Dragon, Gigarex, discarding five gauged cards to deal a point of damage to the opponent.

Design[]

The Tachikaze units are themed after different types of "Tyrannosaurus rex", fitted with armaments of different kinds; mainly swords and guns. Their naming scheme varies, from sizes (Tiny, Mega, Giga, etc), to armaments or battle styles (Fullblade, Assault, Lacerate, etc), or even elements (Dark, Squall, Hell, etc). Most of their titles include "Ravenous" or "Destruction" as well.
