Sanctuary Guard (サンクチュアリガード Sankuchuarigādo) are a series of cards that include "Sanctuary Guard" in its card name exclusive to the Royal Paladin with another lone member of the Etranger clan. The first card was introduced in DAIGO Special Set and they would later receive their first named support in Fighters Collection 2015. The archetype would be re-introduced in V Premium with the release of Special Series 08: DAIGO Special Expansion Set V.
Playstyle[]
The original Sanctuary Guard Dragon possesses a [CONT] skill where it increase it's own [Power] 
in increments of +3000 for each grade 1 or lower rear-guard present on the player's field and to facilitate this, it featured an on-ride skill where it superior calls a grade 1 or lower card to (RC), resulting in a vanguard with very high [Power] and would set the standard for all subsequent members of the archetype to follow. With the release of the archetype's first G unit Holy Dragon, Sanctuary Guard Regalie, the signature increase in [Power] the original Sanctuary Guard was known for now applies to all units in the front row, allowing for a very powerful playstyle particularly if the player is able to call additional cards to (RC) during the battle phase.
The V iteration of Sanctuary Guard Dragon follows the same focus on specifically grade 1 rear-guards set by the original, but expands on it further. Not only will Sanctuary Guard's original [Critical] 
increase to 2 when a grade 1 unit is present on the player's field, but he is also able to [Rest] 
three back row grade 1 rear-guards at the end of a battle he wasn't boosted in order to [Stand] 
with no loss in drive check while also giving the front row [Power] +10000. Owing to the player's inability to boost with their back row grade 1 rear-guards in order to fulfil the skill of Sanctuary Guard, his supporting rear-guards are able to increase the vanguard or their own [Power] via their effects.
