literally look up hiatus x hiatus(which is what I was hinting at with my first comment)
you'll see a list of all the weeks togashi did publish a chapter vs when he didnt.
Basically he's been having backpain problems that make it difficult for him to work on a chapter,or so he says.A few years ago he was seen at a party and people said he looked perfectly healthy,so idk,for all we know he recovered from his health problems and now he's not doing anything cause he doesnt feel like it anymore.Afterall we're talking about the guy that ended yu yu hakusho early cause he got bored of it.
Well, the curbstop at the end of Chapter Black was specifically to set up the Three Kings arc, which would've been fine if the arc hadn't consisted of Yusuke training with and mostly ignoring his dad, until he died, and then Yusuke starts a stupid tournament that Yomi and Mukuro have no real reason to agree to but do, before we see a series of main characters get cool fight but lose offscreen, except Yusuke, who loses the last fight of the series after hyping himself up like nobody's business.
basically everything in the last few messages.I posted like 4 different things in a row,and since you didnt comment on any of them I wasn't sure if you didn't have anything to say or you didn't see them.
Only one I really noted was the go toubun comment, and I mean, yeah, that's the long and short of it. Negi rushed the ending and spoiled the romance by never making it prominent out of a desire to prolong the "mystery". Which is a pretty poor writing decision.
The premise is that there's this giant tower, and if you climb it all the way to the top supposedly God will grant you any wish you desire.(The tower is sorta like a dungeon from Magi, but much larger and with a lot of floors like Aincrad from SAO)
The protag enters the tower to follow his childhood friend that left him behind to enter the tower, and after he enters he has no choice but to start climbing the tower himself.
I haven't read that far into the webtoon(honestly I can't seem to get into most webtoons in general, the only one that I liked well enough to catch up with was solo leveling),but tower of god is one of those super popular webtoons, together with stuff like god of highschool or noblesse,so I'm sure it gets more interesting later down the line.
Actually, the wikipedia page has a pretty detailed setting and plot section if you wanna read that.
I love how they didn't even bother to come up with an alternative to all the powers ,and you just seem them do a this sport event while in the background buildings are collapsing and stuff is exploding everywhere(to be fair,I don't know how you could spin this to make it more realistic, other than just taking it out of the story completely)
oh bofuri and dendrogram are both good imo but have different appeals, dendrogram has its quirks but the functionality of how the game and its state of affairs is very interesting to me its like being in another world while it still being a videogame. while bofuri has it quirks about a newbie who didnt kno anything became one of the most overpowered players in the game, and it made sense he skills go nerfed because basically that whole tournament she jus sat there and waited for people to attack her n then jus ate them with the shield while using paralysis and posion skills to drain her enemies hp away and since her defense was so high she couldnt take damage, atleast this way some of her skills are in check, feels more like an irl game, plus if she takes damage its only gonna be like what an HP or 2 for the memes.
So i spoiled MHA for myself again but basically what if found makes sense about 1 for all and all forr one being polar opposites of each other, that means as more users get the quirk the stronger it becomes, so when deku masters it hes gonna be just as overpowered if not stronger than all for one himself dur to how it stockpiles power and im like thats insane, but ahgain mcs always get crazy strong abilites
no no not even plus ben ended up having more than 10 in rotation after awhile, plus it also answered my question about if someone with a quirk inherited the power would it super charge thier quirk or would they jus end up having 2 abilities? so technically both was the later and one for all acts like the avatar state tbh, since it allows deku to interact and communicate with his previous ancestors, as well as borrowing their knowledge and abilites to use as his own in a state of emergency, but the biggest question i want to know is how the quirk stockpiles power to begin with. and on another note that means deku is learning to do things with the power all might couldnt do making him step out of his shadow and into his own. i thought all for one was op which is why he barely fought n had to have a handicap, but its was the other way around actually since one for all is focusing on overall quality than quantity. but this also means deku is going to have to develop even more slowly since he has one of the most op abilities in the series, and that jus made it even more powerful with the enhanced quirk situation ontop of that
ok,so here's the deal:the first 2 arcs will be freaking amazing if the animation is good because of all the cool martial arts fight scenes, then afterwards I dunno cause the story got too ridiculous and I dropped.BUT WATCH THOSE 2 FIRST ARCS,those should be good.
And lol,the tower of god artstyle actually looks like the early on webtoon artstyle. It might be intentional.
oh yea jaco the reason it was kinda was because jump was rushing tite kubo to finish up the series and after 50 chapters/volumes dere were like your taking too long so he had to rush things to fit into their time frame
Also speaking of zipman,it's a shame it got axed, the concept was interesting.
What pisses me off more is that Samurai 8 is still going on.I swear that if it was made by a nameless author it would have been cancelled months ago,but it gets to stay cause it's made by Kishi. The story is just really convoluted with all that poorly done world building, and if you look past that it's just your run of the mill generic shonen, honestly I don't get why Kishi was so confident it would be the next big thing. The first volumes sold really poorly too from what I hear.
@Hoshi all those walls of texts filled with exposition make my head hurt every time. And the worst part is that even after reading all of them,I still don't fully understand the concepts that were explained.I honestly still don't really know how their cyborg powers work, for example,I just kinda roll with it.That's just not how you do good world building.
@Hikari Ye,basically that, and in a more recent interview his artist also said they wanted to do a scifi theme this time, too. Also, when the series launched,Jump did a promotional push for it,calling it the "manga of the new era" and having a special drawing of the protagonist and naruto together, which pushed the expectations even higher.
@C-Z Did you not read the latest 2 chapters? The main villain of the previous arc got beat in half a chapter by an ass-pull powerup, and then in the next chapter we got a freaking TIME SKIP.It's getting rushed to hell and back,if this doesn't smell like the axe,I don't know what does.
so i finally sished chaos head and it wasnt that bad it got better at the end i jus wished there was more of an epilogue scene, what really kept it going for me were the delusions and the concept of how you can make them into reality. now onto steins gate
ik but like moeka was mad suspicious from the begining to them she was being wierd but to a normal person the amount of intrest she had in the IBN was very questionable she, she was taking pictures, asking to borrow n even, tried to take it, and then when she sends a d-mail all of a sudden it disappears, thats 4 strikes in my book. and plus yall were hacking into a top secret research facility and yall didnt think they had eyes everywhere, or try to be alil more cautious they kept telling people left and right, and letting them fiddle with the machine, ik mayuri dying was bad, but i feel like that was consequence that couldve been easily prevented imo
Steins;Gate was made in 2009, and takes place in 2010, which is during a time where no one bothered to think any government was paying attention to people in detail. Snowden didn't even leak that the U.S. was spying on everyone until 2013. Most people weren't that cautious back then.
At least that's my opinion with facts that weren't checked.
ok fair ill give u that with sern, but i mean they built a freaking time machine, it was at a proto type stage but it it woas working time machine, with that in mind everyone and their mother would be trying to go after it to manipulated past events in their favor. that was my main gripe you invented something groundbreaking that defies the rules of physics and your like sure lets tell a few more people thier friends but still wats the harm in letting other people know, especially moeka. Ruka and faris i give a pass on becuase hey were people the group knew for years, maybe suzuha cause she seemed to know alot more than she was letting on, and was silently helping the group further their research from the shadows. But moeka is where my problem is that girl was a complete stranger, she was alil creepy took pictyures of everything, barely spoke and was alil to desperate to see the IBN, the only reason she even joined in the first place was becasue the gang jus blurted out thier secrets in front of a total stranger (which wasnt a very smart thing to do cause again groundbreaking research their doing), then they let her touch the thing without even asking her what she was going to send which was another mistake which cause a whole series of events that later led to mayuri getting shot in the head
I was afraid I'd have to point this out, but you do know where the term TEENager comes from right? When people become thirTEEN to nineTEEN. Daru is 19, Kyouma and Christina are 18.
I find your suspension of disbelief to be weird. You're okay with them screwing around and changing the gender of one of their friends, but the fact they weren't more suspicious of a person who was basically an old tech otaku, in Akihabara, the land of weird otaku, bothers you. It's Akihabara man, if Japan was already weird, Akihabara is even weirder, no one's really surprised by the types of people in Akiba.
ahhhhhhh ok fair nough then i totally forgot about the overall setting were otaku culture is at an overall high there so it makes sense when you cant tell the difference from wierd to borderline creepy with those people
a fine and ok i finished it my opinion of moeka has become alil less harsh while i believe she was the main reason why things went south it wouldve gone that way regardless of her intervention since they had a spy right under thier noses so im ok with that plus i felt bad for her in the end. now while i do hate the fact that almost every series or movie i watch about time travel always ends up going full circle (because in that regard your jus saying dont do it in the first place it jus causes problems) annoys me to no end it was still a good ending, only question is howww okabe sent himself a message from the future back to himself, im guessing from another worldline or from the apocalyptic future who knows. now onto robotics notes
I'm not sure if it's ending or just starting a new arc. With how big shonens go,I could see it go either way.I need to see how the story develops in the next chapters.
Speaking of stories ending, that my hero chapter.....are we really about to enter the final arc?It feels too soon.
And it looks like Zipman is still going, and the pacing didn't feel rushed this chapter?Idk if it's still axed ,and the author just rushed with those 2 chapters just to get to this point where he can end it properly,or if by some miracle the axing got cancelled midway through.
dangit ik imma spoil myself but jaco what happens before the last arc are we still in the first year or do we do a time skip, cause i need to kno if deku finally becomes an op mc cause im like one for all is legit busted after what i jus found out and i need to find out how it s gonna progress goin forward
dang, welp i guess deku might be underpowered for the whole series but overall it was pretty good, but im like you cant jus throw a curveball like that and not explore cause if anything we still have alot of unanswered questions so either this last arc will be long or it will be unsatisfying to some degree
well,we know he'll learn to use at least 1 more of them, and them maybe we'll get one of those shonens "the power was within you all along" moments and he unlocks all the other ones in the final fight or something like that.
yea true that might work plus we kno deku has shadow ropes, and nanas floating powers, plus the base power boost from OFA, and OMG i just realized deku is ANIME superman. or maybe Anime avatar, cause when i first showed it to my brother he said he felt like he was watching avatar in a sense because of the whole thing with quirks and me telling him deku has multiple ones
oh no thats totally fine but im like the year just started and were about to finish it i thought i waould atleast maybe last a couple more years but thats fine, like it came out in 2014 and hit near big 3 status after awhile its a shame it ending so soon
well,Hori clearly can't handle long running narratives,he more or less said it himself.(the overhaul arc was supposed to be a really long arc like the arcs in one piece, but halfway through Hori felt like it was too much for him so he ended it earlier than planned).I guess he just wants to end it before he starts feeling the same thing about the whole story.
ok thts fine burnout is a legit thing that happens, all things aside tho overhaul was great had alot of plot development, emotional weight, decent fights, and even tho he ended it prematurely it came out good. plus not to disrespect the artist but if he couldnt handle it by himself he could have maybe brung in people like oda or kishimoto for some help developing the story more like they wouldnt be ghost writer but they could have been talking shop and pitching ideas to each other to keep the series going, where if multiple uthors are collaborating to help keep the series going it would be less of strain on the author himself
I hate when authors end series when they still have room to go. It just feels like wasted potential. And MHA has a LOT of wasted potential that will now sadly go unfulfilled. Like, half the class has still received zero narrative focus.
Writing is really difficult, especially when it's writing something good. While I'm bummed at the idea of MHA ending at least it didn't get boring or so long that realistically, only someone with a year's worth of free time could catch up to it.
As someone who writes, imo if you don't have the energy and passion to keep a project going then you probably shouldn't have started with something so ambitious in the first place. Pace yourself. Know your limits. MHA has a ton of room to grow. Calling it quits because you're not up for it makes me question his dedication to future works. I don't want to get into something only to have the rug pulled out from under me just as I was getting invested. It just feels like shoddy work.
As someone else who writes, knowing that there can be times where the thing you've created grows larger than you expected, can make the whole process intimidating, especially when there are people who will get mad at you for stopping when you feel you're at your limit.
It's not like he went into MHA with the idea that it'd last centuries, it seemed more like he wanted to make a product that people enjoyed. Then it got so big that there were random jerks out there that blew up at him and sent death threats over stupid things like a character's birthday being 4/20.
MHA is the first series he's ever made that lasted longer than a year, if the best he could give it was 6 years of his life, that's fair enough. Hopefully he can go farther next time.
He's a professional, he should be able to push through. I don't get to call it quits on a student halfway through the term just because he's a little harder to handle than I expected. This feels really grating. If he wanted the series to remain small, then he could have focused the plot and story a lot more narrowly in order to have better limitations and control over it. But his worldbuilding doesn't back that up. It seems more like he tried to make an epic and he got in too deep.
exactly im not saying 6 years is bad but at the same time they way the story is set up you have the mcs future self narrating, you made it a school shonen, gave him and overpowered ability in order to make it even more overpowered, created a ton of back story that needed to be explored, etc. like im not saying call it quits but you can do what some authors did with their manga and take a sabbatical from it, giving you time to relax and come u with fresh ideas, and like i said get some outside help from authors who could make long story lines, ik saying the big three is super generic but those shows had a ton of long lasting story lines, especially one pice them arcs be taking years, sometimes 2 to finish. plus the collaboration with these authors and different writing styles could be somewhat unique to moving forward with the story, as well as getting a ton of publicity for it. but then again , if it does end the worst situation would be:
A. the akira toriyama route where he tried to end the series multiple times but kept it going due to fan service
B. the Kishimoto route where thy would want him to make a spin-off and he says no but then somebody else from your team does it anyway and ends up writing the story for you, which doesnt seem bad but according to my group of friends, and other people they alll hate boruto the salt for that show is real and idk why its hated that much.
Since my comment sparked a whole disscussion I looked up Hori's interview to make sure the info was accurate. It turns out the reason why the overhaul arc was ended sooner than planned was because the story was turning too dark and when writing Hori just wasn't feeling it anymore, not because it was too long.My bad.
@Exarch "I don't want to get into something only to have the rug pulled out from under me just as I was getting invested". Heh,I guess you never watched/read Yu Yu Hakusho ?😜
@Hikari actually, there IS a my hero manga spinoff. It's called vigilantes:my hero academia and it is a prequel of sorts to the main story(it takes place some years before the current story, but the main cast is made out of new characters).Speaking of that series,it's in its final arc,and it should end in a few months too.
exarch actually has hes watched yuyu hakusho and thats where his comment was coming from were the ending was horribly rushed and while good it was lackluster, plus the writer of yu yu hakusho also wrote hunter x hunter and got bored. thts wat hes saying when u start something you finish it , instyead of ending it partway.
and yea i can totally see that cause night eye dying and overhauls methods were pure he was using very inhumane methods to get what he wants and my hero is supposed to be a naturally upbeat show based off of superheroes after all
so i finished robotics notes and it was ok the final fight was alil subpar, and the ending was lackluster but it was still good cause the mystery and suspense of it all were very well done, my gripes were wen mizuha died, when subaru got injured, and when the guys came back from tokyo. in mizuhas case the way the angle was show when we saw her laying there it didnt seem like a large enough fall to kill her, injure her yes, but not really kill her in my opinion. Subaru, he shouldve died not only was he sitting there looking stupid as the gun build 2 was wobbling over(instead of getting out the way and not jus looking up at his inevitable doom like hes stupid) it literally fell on top of him and he only got broken legs, like even tho the robot is made of light wieght material the thing still wieghts alot, when it topple over he shouldve been squished, but the reall thing that made me mad was again the common sense like its falling over GET OUT THE WAY IDIOT!!, same with the airplane when it was landing in the whole hangar theyre literally jus standing there and looking instead of getting out the way so they dont get crushed, like they were stupid again. other than that it was pretty enjoyable and the first op was really good to listen too, but now onto chaos;child
The author declared that each girl will be getting their own ending, and all the endings are equally "canon" and the readers can choose whoever they want to win. Which means the entire series was pointless, because it was never building to an actual ending. None of the "hints" for any of the girls mattered, they are all equally meaningless because the ending is whatever the reader wants it to be. I found it to be insulting, even moreso because the announcement came at the very end of Uruka's arc, meaning I was built up with hope for months only for Tsutsui to take it from me. So yeah, screw it. The series is trash to me now. For all the criticism I gave Negi, at least he had the guts to actually choose a girl and stick with her.
Well, if y'all are looking for some other rom-coms right now, kaguya is as good as ever, and 2 other new rom-coms,"cuckoo's fiancee" and "100 girlfriends that really really love you" started a few weeks ago and both are looking pretty promising.
EDIT:speaking of kaguya, here's the first promo art for season 2!!
kaguya did win a cruchy award so yea i might check that out but apparently since he said canon they will likely go back to a point go through alternate routes that all take place in the same period then at the end see who he ends up with.
I honestly thought exarch was salty that my hero was ending prematurely
finally after 8 freaking years it comes back and ik people are excited about it cause again big 3 lol. oh yea jaco and anybody who answers do u think they way that its going now, that one piece can end in 5years and be satisfying? cause i think it needs another 10, 15 max before it can wrap up the story
eh,my bet was on around 6-7 years, but if oda speeds up the pace I guess it's doable.
Just in this flashback we're currently in we got waaaayy more info than anyone expected,so if oda can keep this pace up I guess it's doable.Besides, that's just his estimate,it's not like Oda hasn't said he want to do X thing by Y date, and then ended up doing it like 2 years later(*cough*wano arc*cough*) so ye,I wouldn't worry too much about that.Oda knows what he's doing.
true cause again luffy didnt take down big mom last arc he jus came in got back sanji and left i mad jinbe stayed behind like he jus joined and now he gotta get put to the side, but yea if luffy takes down 2 yonko its all uphill from there and personally after wano hes probably gonna meet up with shanks, iwas thinking at the end, but more of a casual metting between the 2 luffy showing him how strong he is and how far hes come.
Not really tho jaco and all i gotta say is kaido is freaking op and i love it hes jus so menacingly cool
1) I've seen people make the analogy that whole cake was basically a "water 7",as in,the first half of a saga, and we need to get its version of "enies lobby" to see how the big mom story concludes(which might very well be the second half of wano)
2)for jinbe, the main theory right now for why he stayed behind(and also why Oda refuses to draw him into most color spreads with the rest of the crew) is because he's gonna be turned into a homie and we'll see his new design in wano when he comes to save the crew or w/e.
3)for shanks, the main consensus right now is that elbaf is gonna be shank's arc, since it seems like oda is setting up for an elbaf arc soon, and shanks the last yonko luffy needs to meet with for the yonko saga to be complete(blackbeard will either come in at the end of wano to steal kaido's fruit,or appear in the shanks arc)
4)speaking of luffy showing him how strong he is,main theory is that their crews will do a davy black fight(since,ya know, that arc is literally pointless canon-filler as of right now, there's gotta be something more oda has planned with that concept)
5)forgot to mention this in the previous comment, but for big mom some people like to argue that she'll become luffy's ally after her story is done(look up some yt videos on it if you're curious, there's a bunch of tiny hints I don't feel like getting into right now)
6)was that "not really" comment addressed at the spoiling comment?if it was, what do you mean?it LITERALLY spoiled manga readers lmao, did you read the latest chapter?(I assume you know about the spoiler in the opening I'm referring to)
oh i was talking about the year estimate you was doing not the chapter
The davy back fight makes sense, and if black beard does do that than not only does he becom the first person to have multiple d fruit powers, put also having all 3 types of dfruit powers, which sets him up to be a final villan of sorts, plus also when luffy does meet shanks ussopp will meet his father.
and im like i can see why jinbe had to leave because hes a warlord and all plus a fishmen so that would make him the 3rd or fourth strongest in luffys crew and giving him that now would be to mu8ch thats what i assumed that is.
what i mean is we still need to find the final road poneglyph, read the rest of them, find out where zuniesha is heading to, the dawn pedro gave his life for, joy boys and his history, noahs intended purpose, captin johns treasure hoard, the all blue, the third ancient weapon uranus(since each weapon played a key part in an arc so far), IM the leader of the world government who sits on the empty thrown, mary geoises secret treasure, zoro and mihawks showdown, finding laugh tale, learning what one piece really is, find out the whole history of the void century, vegapunk needs to show up, that secret marine weapon their currently making, and the war with dragon and his people set to happen.
also is it me or has luffy gained alot of clout as of recently this started from enies lobby but luffys gaining alot of power and influence to the point where hes technically become a 5th yonko
the idea for him stealing kaido's fruit is that BB said the darkness fruit is the strongest logia,it was stated that WB's fruit is the strongest paramecia, and since kaido is the strongest beast alive it's safe to assume his fruit is the strongest zoan,so if BB steals it he'll have the strongest paramecia, strongest zoan and strongest logia. Now granted,I still prefer the idea that kaido is a dragon that ate some model of the human-human fruit(something like mythical zoan human-human fruit model:oni or model:evil giant, since the horns make him look a bit like oars),rather than him eating a dragon fruit, which kinda kills this theory, but we'll have to see.
ye,I especially like the davy black fight idea since that way ussop and yassop have an excuse to have a sniping contest, just imagine that!
I meant the jinbe thing from a meta,4th wall perspective:Oda has been teasing jinbe joining the crew since fishman island, and now when he was finally about to join.....he makes him stay behind AGAIN? Knowing Oda's writing style, there's gotta be some good reason why he needed to have jinbe stay behind instead of joining, and the homie theory is the best idea I've seen so far regarding that.
for the 4th paragraph,in order:
people assume shanks knows where the final poneglyph is,since so far each yonko had 1,and luffy will davy black fight him so he can win the poneglyph from him.
the dawn thing is just a metaphor for the prophesized day Roger found out about on laugh tale(speaking of that,if you look at a translated version of the original lyrics of bink's sake, there's some verses that also talk about a dawn coming.I freaking love how Oda foreshadows stuff like that)
regarding zunisha, people assume it's part of the same race of giant creatures that roam the florian triangle(and we need to learn what the deal is with them too)
ehhh, noah was stated to have been made by joyboy so he could bring all the fishman to the surface.I guess you forgot?
captain john's treasure was just a plot device to make buggy help out during marineford,it's not really relevant in any way.Besides,Luffy doesn't care about gold anyways.
for the all blue,I really like the inherited will theory's take on it(if you havent read that theory go look it up,it's the most well known theory in the community).I won't go into details, but the basic idea is that ,since fishman island is under the red line, and the red line will be destroyed in the final arc most likely, fishman island will also be destroyed as collateral damage(as prophesized by Shyarly),and then, since that's also where the red line and grand line interesect, the newly created hole in the red line, where fishman island used to be, will allow all 4 Blues to come together and unite(......into One Piece),thus forming the All Blue.To support this, remember what Sanji said when he arrived in fishman island(and saw the mermaids)?that's right,he said "I've found my All Blue".Now,think about that line again with this theory in mind.It fits soooo well.
for mihawk,I really liked that shilliew will steal jozu's fruit, become diamond, which is known as the toughest substance, mihawk wouldn't be able to cut diamond,so he gets killed and shilliew gets his title, then zoro comes in and learns how to cut diamond to defeat him(since back in alabasta,mr. 1 asked zoro is the next thing he'll learn to cut is diamond, and that line hasn't been relevant since then). But now since shilliew got the invisibility fruit, that doesn't work anymore,so idk,we'll see what happens.
correction, the name's Imu,not Im.It's important since "Imu" is "Umi" backwards, which is japanese for "sea", so he might very well have something to do with why the sea hates devil fruits.
honestly, main reason why I want vegapunk to show up is so we can finally get a proper explanation on how devil fruits work, oda teased that like 12 years ago and still hasn't delivered.
some other things you forgot about(off the top of my head,I'm sure there's more):the whole deal with the Rocks pirates, how kaido is indepted to big mom,the whole backstory of wano and ryuma, why kuina and tashigi look alike, what' the connection with zoro's master and wano, what's with that egg on roger's ship, what's the deal with giant jack on elbaf(that's where the root of the plat is,the part we saw on skypea was just 1 branch),how does green bull look like/what fruit does he have, the whole backstory of germa, how sanji can use diable jambe(tho at this point I've sorta gave up that we'll ever get a proper explanation for that),how zoro can use asura(hopefully in this arc),luffy's awakening, what is the voice of all things, what is the will of D,what's the connection between the kozuki and zunisha, what's aokiji doing on BB's crew, whats the connection between weevil, bakins and WB.
as for whole cake,I've said before I had some issues with the katakuri fight, but overall that arc(like basically all post-timeskip arcs) had a bunch of pacing problems. At this point it feels like the story has grown so much in scope it's practically impossible for Oda to keep it going at a constantly good pace if he wants to actually finish it before he dies,so I guess the only solution to it is to briefly brush over some stuff things without going into details, even tho it gives the feeling that some things are incomplete. It sucks, but as things are now there's no real good alternative.Even Oda said in an SBS that he wished he could have done more with Smoothie that arc(which literally acomplished nothing and just stayed in the background all the time),but he didn't get the chance to(probably because he couldn't fit her anywhere without making the pacing even worse). The main thing I'm really hoping for is that after the manga is finished, oda gives all his notes with all the ideas he wanted to add into the story but couldnt to a really good studio(madhouse/ufotable?fingers crossed) ,and the studio makes a hxh(2011)-style remake of the story with all the extra stuff added in.Since now they don't have to worry about the story getting finished, they can take the time and implement all the things oda wanted to but couldn't.
i was jus about to say the will of d and other stuff, and man oda is good a freaking foreshadowing is amazing.
That red line theroy makes sense because of the prediction mad as something that would happen later, but yes like i mean the noahs supposed to be repaired for when joy boy supposedly returns, cause according to them theyre still waiting for him to appear on said day so that might be why when we get to laugh tale joy boy shows up and certain events will get put into action that actually lines up well with everything so far
BB have those fruits makes it seem like he will end up being the final villan, i still say its imu cause of that straw hat he has frozen in mary geiose n when he comes to play a whole bunch of things will be revealed.
I think that sanji might still be somewhat enhanced, even tho her mother made sure that it wouldnt happen sanjis father could have augmented him with out either of them knowing which explains how hes able to use jambe( i originally thought he spun around n used the friction to create heat)
Zoro might be a descendant of powerful swordsman from wano because hes been able to do thing that were well extrordinary, member how he was still fighting after mihawk bisected him in da chest,or when he stood there and took all of luffys pain from kuma thats jus amazing. i might be biased becasue i personally thing hes the greatest swordsman in all of the anime ive watch and ive watched alot not only because of his resillience but also his potential.
The uranus thing needs to be explored becasue again imu is keeping an eye of luffy(obvious reasons, Shirahoshi(because she is the new posiedon), and vivi( since pluton is rumored to be hidden in alabasta) plus pluton was the main reason water 7 happened, and posiedon played a key role in the fishman island arc. so uranus having its own arc would make sense
The voice of all things mayy be a super advanced form of conquers haki , that a certain number of people can use it allows them to overwhelm others with their force of will so maybe the voice is working in reverse
and technically jinbe jion the crew was hinted since after marineford since that whole adventure brought them those 2 together plus he saved luffys life
the davy back thing makes sense since shanks would be the last big obstacle before the final arc so seeing both crews go down would be amazing and them him teaming up with luffy to fight black beard.
And yes because we need an explaination of how those fruits work like yesterday to this day i still call bs on BB being able to get 2 powers while everyone else cant.
I also think the will of d has something to do with destiny where theyre fated to lead certain lives and do impartant things
plus ur theroy with kaido has merit since sengoku ate a human devil fruit that turns him into a golen buddha so that means theyre are other different types out there and him being a dragon would explain his resilience since dragons are one of the strongest creatures in mythology
I guess you didn't get that part, but with the way the sea kings were talking about "kings"(plural) being born, and all the other stuff with the dawn coming and luffy,it's highly implied that luffy is joyboy(or at least some reincarnation of him)
I mean ye,Imu should be the final antagonist at this point, but there's also BB and Akainu to take care of,we'll see what happens.
The thing with Sanji is,at first I thought that he's also enhanced, but just look at his raid suit:all the other raid suits boosts the genetic abilities of their wearers, but sanji's raid suit just gives him a completely separate power that has nothing to do with flames,so because of that I doubt it the flames come from the genetic enhancing.
for zoro,if you paid attention to the sillhouete of the shimotsuki daimyo(the one with the fox),you'd have noticed that he looks very similar to zoro,so they have to be connected in some way.
I liked the idea of the voice of all things being some advanced form of observation honestly, since both powers have to do with feeling the souls and intentions of those around you.
ehhhh, not sure about that jinbe hint,by that logic people like ivankov or bon clay should have joined, too. And then there's also Gaimon, whose sole purpose in the story was to show the readers that not every single friend luffy makes will join the crew.
for the will of D,ive seen a lot of ideas:D as in devil,D as in Dawn,if you turn it to the right 90 degrees it looks like a smile(D die with a smile on their face),if you turn it 90 degrees to the left it looks like the sun rising(the dawn),and a bunch of others that I'm forgeting right now.Oda could take it in any direction he wants,we don't have that many details to go off of.
the main reason why I like the kaido is a dragon theory is because he's called the strongest beast, not the strongest human, big mom called him "that thing" ,which doenst sound like a way you'd address another human, his "human" form looks really weird with all the horns and scales on his chest(similar to how chopper in human form still has all the fur on his body),and he's obssessed with having his crew members use zoan fruits,to the point that he hired doffy to create artificial ones for him.Maybe this obsssession comes from him feeling like an outcast, since he isn't actually human, and turning the people around him into other animals like him makes him feel better.Idk,it just sounds like the basis of a good tragic backstory, and post-timeskip oda really loves giving each villain a tragic backstory(sidenote,if he turns out to be a dragon,I also like the idea that he came out of the egg on roger's ship)
if he came out the egg that would explain how he was on rocks' crew since he was around before gold rodger became gold roger, sanji having invisiblity makes sense, because remebr how mad he was at absolom for having the clear clear fruit, cause he wanted it for him self, so the raid suit giving him ivisiblity explains why. what i think is at the end time travel plays a part here so luffy my meet his future self some how or some way or a past version of himself since theirs a frozen strawhat in mary geiose thats supposed to be a treaseure. plus ders also a 1 more thing to luffy needs to meet his father, thtas another thing on the list. so u may be on the money with the joy boy thing.
Oda does alot of foreshadowing but i feel like had he started this process post timeskip he couldve save alot of trouble going forward since the more we go on the more things get revealed and the more things we end up knowing till the end
Sanji wanted that power so he could peep at girls in the bath,it had nothing to do with the raid suit, and nothing to do with his flame powers.I'm not sure what you mean.
Ehh,that strawhat was gigantic,im fairly certain it is not directly connected to luffy. Also, with Toki's fruit Oda basically established that there won't be any going back in time time travel shenanigans.
Oda has been doing foreshadownig literally since chapter 1(shanks having conqueror's),I'm not sure what you mean with your last comment
plus i wanted to wait until all of the fate stay night original routes came out so i could watch them and the various spin offs im kinda ocd about that, if i watch something i look it up and watch it in order
Don't worry about spoilers that much this time around, other than the sanji thing I've already told otakon basically everything else we mentioned in discord talks, and other than him everyone else here either reads the manga or doesn't read/watch the series at all,so they don't care.
I mean,I don't think he's ever been so adamant in his decision before. Then again,he always comes up with new ideas he wants to add into the story, which prolong the story even more.
In the beginning the story was supposed to last only around 5 years, luffy was supposed to gather the entire crew in the east blue, with the grandline serving only as a final saga of sorts, where he'd face off directly with the yonko(shichibukai weren't a thing). And robin, the poneglyphs and all the stuff about the void century weren't a thing either.Oda entered the grandline earlier since the series was getting popular, and he wanted to get to the interesting part faster, added the shichibukai to give luffy more villains to fight to make the story longer, and since the story was gonna be longer than he planned he thought there needed to be more mysteries added,so he added robin, the poneglyphs and the void century.
here's a list of things he didn't plan in advance,if you're curious:
ohhh cool well lthat was something since the east blue saga seemed pretty long but then again that was jus for world building so i can see why, oh yea so speaking of what were you problems twitht he whol cake arcs pacing ik it was like dumb long but it seemed pretty ok, the katakuri fight took awhile but i wasnt really bored cause i expect one piece arcs to be long but full of development, i already kno for a fact wano might be the longest arc in the series to date, jus cause of how much build up there is
1)some elements of the story that really weren't that important(like big mom chasing the strawhats,or sanji baking the cake)were given a lot of focus that wasn't necessary, and other more important moments were not given enough(like pedro going sulong,or the whole sideplot with the germa,or smoothie's character as a whole, which just got shafted)
2)I liked the general idea of the katakuri fight, but the execution could have been better. If oda wanted to do a character-focused fight like this, there really needed to be more moments where we got to see what katakuri was thinking/feeling,to really hammer in what he was going through. All we got was 1 brief flashback scene(at the END of the fight),and that was it.Because of this ,all the details are left up to interpretation, and I've seen a bunch of people make their own head-canons of what actually went down, and I'm not a fan of that.I like it when things are being told clearly, not left up to reader interpretation.
Man, this manga I found --Yofukashi no uta-- sure is a mood. 18 chapters in and it honestly weirdly reminds of ol' comic book strips. Not the format of the panels but more like the atmosphere and how small the main character's world is.
Especially in the night where there are more dark shades and black ink.
burn the witch and blood war are getting anime adaptations
Why burn the witch??Are they just gonna adapt the one shot?did kubo give them enough material for an entire season? It just seems like such a weird choice to adapt a one shot that was never made into a series.
EDIT:WAIT BURN THE WITCH IS GETTING A MANGA SERIES TOO!!! BROO
I'm surprised jump is even willing to work with kubo after last time XD
So like, all of this means that jump basically replaced Kishi with Kubo
EDIT:and one thing im confused about is I thought all the bleach announcements were supposed to happen in 3 days from now(that's what the countdown on that site points to).So like, was this just like with pokemon and corocoro, and did the announcement leak early,or is there more to this?
TBH no one really knows, since their powers and the way their universe worked seemed different from bleach's.I feel like Kubo just threw that in at the end just as an easter egg, with him planning to somehow make it work later if the one shot actually got turned into a series.
Which now happened soooooooo...........I guess we'll see in a few months?
lol no i didnt see and man i gotta rewatch bleach, cause everything before episode 200 is hazy, plus were u satisfied with the mangas ending cause alot of people say they want kubo to make an anime original ending cause of how bad it was
ok i say bleach couldve kept going after that but my only beef, my only beef with the arrancar arc was tht the final fight between ichigo an aizen was anticlimatic there was sum dialouge a few blows the he 1 shotted him and thats it, if left a salty taste in my mouth, and this was wayyyyy before i was aware of online streaming services so i was watching it every saturday night at 12-12:30 on toonami week by week, every other day once my mom got dvr, and alll of that jus for a 1 shot i was like a you serious, and it didnt even take him down aizen got sealed away i was soo salty it wasnt even funny, u gave u all ur powers to 1 shot him and he didnt go down thts ridiculous.
Full bring was ok if they extended the stroyline more it couldve been better the best part was when all of the soul society and ichigos friends gave them a bot of their power to restore his ( dont like the new design of his sword the old one was better)
I was hoping after i found out the truth about hollow ichigo and what it really was that final carc was gonna be good, cause final arcs drop a huge bomb den wrap stuff up mostly. like fairy tail did not see that last plot twist coming and it was very good.
I mean ye,but the arc as a whole was good,so I won't dock it that many points just for the ending.Unlike the blood war arc...........
Side note, but nanatsu is ending next week.Speaking of series that fell from grace,I can't believe how bad nanatsu became in the last 2 arcs. And I remember how back 3-4 years ago it was one of the top weekly shonens, constantly pushing out quality chapters every week.Oh how the mighty have fallen....
but the funny thing is the movie did good internationally its jus it flopped when it came to its main audience, thts what led to it plus i was looking forward to learning the truth about meliodas and elizabeths curse and pl were hyped up abt meliodas vs escanor, but the animation apparently screwed it over but well see when/ if it comes on netflix, cause lik ppl complain about one pieces animation and pacing and still watch it( i jus read ahaead alil and binge it), so well see
i feel that if a series international ratings do better than the main audience it should count towards viewership as a whole because a percentage of those sales and views should go back to the studio
as I said, the manga's ending next week, and the last 2 arcs have been trash.Just don't really bother with it after the demon king fight(even tho that fight was pretty bad too,IMO that's where it started to get bad)
Read the manga up to the latest translated chapter, it's another one of those series with people that have powers based on their personality and desire.
Protagonist isn't a furry, he just turns into a fursuit as it's based off a keychain mascot of a friend and also he doesn't have any strong desires of his own so he can be ridden by other people but the combo is OP if he shares desires with whoever is inside him.
it's a seinen manga.A bunch of people infested with frog parasytes that give you superpowers based on your desires.Main guy has to kill as many monsters aas possible because of plot reasons I won't get into, while keeping his desires in check.
Also, you know you can just look this stuff up online, right?google is your friend.
Also, yes, Gleipnir is interesting indeed. I got to a really nice spot before the manga paused (?) and I gotta tell ya, this is a pretty nicely contained story. I can see a definitive end and honestly maybe a sequel due to the mystery of a certain character.
hmm now i gotta check it out, and yea ur right jaco but word of mouth kinda works better for me rn i jus finished watching radiant and that second season was really good , i hope it comes back for another
So with all these bleach announcements, apparently it has come to light that Kubo wasn't cancelled,he ended Bleach of his own accord due to health problems(supposedly it was stated in yesterday's livestream, but I watched all of it live and don't remember hearing that.Idk,maybe I just missed it)
Honestly,if that's actually true.....that's worse than getting cancelled.Deciding that you can't keep the series going because of health problems is fine, but if that's the case you start slowly wrapping up the story ahead of time,so when it actually ends the all the plot point have been adressed and the ending feels satisfying, you don't keep expanding on the plot over and over again and then literally last minute you go "nvm, changed my mind,I wanna end this now" like how Kubo supposedly did.Health problems that mangaka have to deal with accumulate and become worse over time,it's not like a sudden ilness you get 1 day,Kubo should have known he wouldn't be able to keep going long before he actually stopped.
Like,I've joked many timess about how Kubo doesn't know how to plan ahead, but seriously, the lack of foresight just baffles me with this one.
If Samurai 8's ending was what Kishimoto wanted to end with, he was way too ambitious. Like, that's just Shippuden, and he was no where close to it. I know having an ending in mind is good, but the fact he didn't create a new ending because he was getting canned says a lot...
true but then again i feel like the anime is a way of getting a second chance ending, because fight scenes and dialouge can get dragged out more, and we can have a more concrette satisfying ending, plus again bleach from the get go after soul society was jus a ton of original stories kubo made jus to keep it going, then we got back to the canon stuff and was like oh thts right we had a plot to get 2
Bleach's biggest problem was that Kubo kept getting screwed over by his editor. Particularly in the Arrancar arc.
1. He wanted the plot of the arc to go differently, but due to the success of the Soul Society arc turning Bleach into a breakout hit, his editor basically told him they needed to make it another rescue arc.
2. They wanted him to cover ALL the battles. Yes, all of them. which added roughly two+ years of content.
Not sure how much else his editor had a hand in, but those were the two I heard of. I wonder what Bleach would have looked like if he had total creative control over it.
I mean, some people are adding on to that statement and saying that Kubo ended bleach the way he wanted.
Really?you think this super rushed, with most of the plot points left unadressed ending is how he wanted to end it?Sorry, but the more I think about all of this, the harder it is for me to actually believe it.
fair nough but thats the case of toriyama adding more to the universe to keep the story cuase dragonball was originally a fantasy before it became sci-fi, it still has said elements but way less than the original series, and now tht you point that out about bleach that made total sense the arrancar arc probably wouldve ended sooner if not for that
t wasnt that bad but still what you expect when you get to have creative freedom after being restrained for sooo long. granted super was decent but stiill after cell gohan shouldve been the mc goin forward
Understandable why. They pulled it off just fine when Kazuma debated with himself whether or not to share the futon with Megumin.
At the end of the day I still prefer LNs over Anime, but Konosuba gets my seal of approval for being an anime adaptation I don't see much anything to complain about.
The Overlord Animes skipped sooo much content it's pull my hair out aggravating, i.e. the scene of Jircniv being impressed by how tasty Nazarick orange juice is doesn't make much sense since they skipped his meeting with Mare and Aura
I think the Movie kinda didn't go over this properly, but the entire Megumin tribe race of crimson demons was created by the same guy that did the giant destroyer robo from earlier on and I find it hiarious that they gave another callback to that guy.
I wonder if we'll ever get far enough to actually reach the end of the LN animated. Konosuba I feel has the popularity for it
Oh speaking of 80s netflix finally got rights to a series ive been trying to find for Years: Saint Sieya, now i can finally watch the original serries and go forward, because like i said i dont start investing into a franchise if i cant watch it in order from start to finish, im still waiting on fate to make an anime adaptation of heavens feel so i can finally start finish watching the series
Also that anime is amazing in general TBH im surpised it hasnt kept going yet
no spring sond doesnt air till the 25th, which is the final part of the trilogy so i gotta wait probaly a moth after that to watch it after it airs in the movies and with decent auality other that that i might jus watch saint seiya in the meantime or finish ruroni kensihn, but rn im watching haikyu and its pretty good, anime has this wierd way of getting you into sports and other things doesnt it
als tsugumomo is back as well and glepnir aired too, and not a shocker MHA is getting another season at this point MHA is at staple anime status because of how much fame its gotten since it first premiered
Gleipnir first ep was pretty nice. Can't wait for them to dive deeper into the plot so peeps who write the show off as furry bait can be silenced and realise the plot is actually interesting. Nosebleed shots are appreciated though.
Can't wait for MHA's best arc, the villain arc.
Saw Digimon 2020 first ep. I can roll with this. I can definitely hop on this train.
i mean endevors arc is probably gonna encompass the whole season tho rightr since its really long, plus the way were going we might get to it in 3 years, i watched appli monsters subbed but idk about digimon the reboot yet.
Sevens is honestly getting better the more episodes come out and i really like yugas personality as its less spreading egao and more he wants rush duels to take off for the sake of the game and not influencing people with his own ideals
Saw the digimon reboot and im like the first episode was good and im like at the second im like broo were getting omnimon in this soon, its way too early for this cause then that means fans are gonna be like you got omnimon now yall can sweep anything. its still good dont get me wrong but as the show goes on were gonna get to the point that using him is just gonna be needed because of how strong he is.
And sao got postponed till july it was supposed to come in april but u kno bermuda 19 and all
sooo still going through saint seiya and is good it has decent action and plot twists, but the writing is alil cheesy but it was made in the mid 80s so i cant blame it on that too much and i found all the sequel series plus the ova so i can start watching ASAP after i finish catching up on bleach
Also ash has a riolu now so his swsh team is looking pretty solid hes got a dragonite, gengar, maybe a lucario, plus mr mime n pikachu its like now that hes won a league its ok for him to have super strong pokemon now and not weak starters/prevolves
im really serios ash befrinded a dragoniar then it evolved into dragonite before the episode was over and it wnated to travel with him so he caught it, gengar was a repeat of his charmander and he ended up catching that, the riolu came from an egg and he hatched it, plus mr mime is from his mom, and pikachu, but yea ashs team this gen is looking really amazing, plus his alola team wiont be used anymore because they got real overpowered by the end of the series he has 2 psuedo legendariesfully evolved, a fully evolved starter, plus rowlet and pikachu so hes slowly getting more power creeped as time is going on. and like i said ash won a pokemon league so his skill cap is at a higher setting than it was before so thts why he can have this kind of line up not cause the situation is just right for it
We have double protags and ash still has 1 or 2 more slots if mr mime is jus a companion instead of in his party, plus go seems to be filling the galar niche since he has a raboot and is catching anything that moves. so depending on what go gets later on thier teams are going to be ridonkulously strong for no reason
lol thanx jaco but still like i figured this was gonna happen after, but not this fast like he has some of the strongest pokemon in history wit 2 having psuedo legendary status which is amazing he hasnt had a team this good since gen 4
